Post#1 » by starbuck785 » Thu Sep 2, 2010 12:50 am

I know as does everyone else that the Spurs are looking at the SF postion. Okay with that said and everyone on the same page. •Darius Miles Works Out For Spurs come on really????
Lets look at the options

D Wilkins
J Williams
S Graham
B Simmons

Or even a undrafted but Miles????

I've said it before but I think James Singleton would be a good option for us. He's a high energy guy that defends and rebounds well.

Yeah J Singleton would be a good fit
5ppg 5rpg 85% ft and almost a block a game in just over 17 min a contest
If he could get 20-25 min some how I think we could see him as a usefull player Im down.

I don't think Singleton is a SF. Only seen limited games of his but judging by that and from reading around and stuff, isn't he a PF?

I don't know about Darius Miles. Like a lot of us have said, whoever we bring in now via FA isn't likely to crack the rotation. Even in a situation where an injury happens, I'm thinking the Spurs will rather give extended minutes to guys like Gee or Anderson.

Thing is, our perimeter rotation right now is young. Way too young. Outside of the big 3, we're counting on Anderson (rookie), Hill (3rd year and didn't play much in his first year), and then guys like Gee and Temple are basically rookies since they haven't even played 82 full games yet in their careers.

Knowing that, I do feel the Spurs should sign a Veteran guy to play the perimeter. We have enough projects as it is... Plus, atleast with Darius, we know he'll be hungry enough where he can be one of those veterans who go hard at practice and stays late for shootarounds and everything. He can be a good example for the young kids.

Singleton can play either 3 or 4 and he's effective at both positions.

Don't think Gee is ready for big minutes in NBA. He is a SG, not a SF. He maybe gives us good D, but his shooting is bad and he is young and unexperience..
He, in summer league, had games of 4-12 FG..that's not good enough for NBA and Spurs i think..
Needs to develop..
Maybe it would be nice to go on a trade por Dice or Bonner contract..

Return to San Antonio Spurs
