GT: Grizzlies vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sat Dec 18, 2010 12:59 am

When: 8:30 PM ET, December 18, 2010
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Starting Lineups:

Grizzlies:
PG - Mike Conely
SG - Xavier Henry
SF - Rudy Gay
PF - Zach Randolph
C - Marc Gasol

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

We're coming off of two huge wins against the Bucks and the Nuggets to face the very mediocre Grizzlies. I think the key to this ones going to be the battle of the benchs. Outside of Mayo the Grizzlies have no one who can produce off the bench. So if Hill, Neal, Dyce and Bonner produce I really think we'll have a good shot at winning this game.

Go Spurs!!

A little worried about this game. We just come off 2 incredible wins and it would be normal if guys are taking this game lightly. Plus, they got Marc Gasol and Randolph. There's a good chance that we'd have trouble with their frontline. I hope we win

Like the T-Wolves, their bigs are skilled and potentially troublesome for us. But like Nolan says, their bench is Mayo and little else. We should be able to handle them pretty easily.

I just found out Grizzlies just played Houston so this will be their b2b. We're rested and at home, we should win this game.

Rudy Gay shouldn't play tonight cause if the league is consistent, he will be suspended for a game just as Andre Miller was.
Memphis in their 2 game of a b2b, w/o Rudy Gay. Spurs struggle on their b2b, but rested 1 day and it's at home!
With that said, even though Gasol and Randolph are a good frontcourt, we should win this game. Hope we can return to the "Duncan not playing in the 4th" mode..

Red Rocket playing with the flip flops!

Anyone know what the deal with Hill is? How long he's out for?

Great game from TP, he was on fire!

We had no answer for Randolph.

23-3!

Parker was amazing tonight, good win but it shouldn't of gone to OT.

I'm just glad we didn't lose that game. Parker walked it up the floor to get an 8 second call in a 4 point game. And then there's that RJ step out of bounds. Had we lost the game, I wouldn't be surprised since we were making boneheaded turnovers.

Yeah the 8 second thing was weird. First time all year for the Spurs and right at the end of a close game.

Oh well we got the W.

I'd like to add that Chris Quinn was awesome. One thing I didn't know was that he had 3 point range. I though he was just like a younger version of Jacque Vaughn.. A sort of steady and calm PG. Pop said he was a good shooter and smart and everything. When he first hit a shot, I'm like phewwww... but after a couple, i'm like is that actually part of his game or is it luck? Looks like it actually is part of his game. The guy is not a lights out shooter, but I'm guessing he's decent to good at it.

In years gone by, Quinn would've got some decent minutes backing up TP, not unlike Vaughn or a washed up Mighty Mouse. But with Hill in the mix it's going to be tough for him, unless there's an injury.

He was decent vs Memphis, he hit open jumpers and that's all we can expect from him.

I expect Pop to keep Hill out for at least until the Orlando game. That gives Quinn a few more games to show what he's got. Honestly I didn't think he would stick around this long. So far he has looked good with limited mins.

Yeah, I thought Quinn was gonna be here for 2 weeks or something but seems like Pop likes him. Like I said, I think he's a younger version of Jacque Vaughn. Good enough to play limited minutes as a backup, but better as a 3rd string. I wouldn't mind him at all but still need to see more of him. Last nite was definitely a good sign thou.
