10 things I learned watching Lakers-Spurs and Inside the NBA

Post#1 » by wizardg » Fri Feb 4, 2011 11:50 pm

1. “The Spurs can’t beat the Lakers in a playoff series.”
2. The Spurs can beat the Lakers in 2 regular season games when Duncan averages 2 baskets a game.
3. No one called Kobe the best basketball player in the world in 2 consecutive games. .
4. Gasol is soft as Egyptian cotton.
5. Kobe can’t guard Manu or Parker.
6. Kobe doesn’t even try to guard Jefferson
7. “The greatest coach ever” never does anything imaginative with his lineups.
8. When Mister ".4" DFish in on the bench at crunch time he must be hurt or done.
9. Kobe now dunks like Reggie Miller.
10. Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson and Kenny Smith are Laker fans.

Just having fun. ...please add

11. I'd rather have a root canal than listen to Mark Jackson and Reggie Miller talk.
12. If Derek Fisher was our PG, I'd be on suicide watch.
13. The Lakers "struggles" are overblown, they still deserve to be favored to come out of the west.

14. Lakers aren't hungry
15. Kobe is beat up
16. Gasol is soft and looks gased
17. Spurs find a way to win even when they can't buy a bucket
18. RJ is just as big as Artest
19. Manu still has it

21. When the Lakers lose to the Spurs at home it's only because they played horribly, even though the Spurs played horribly too.

Wow, you picked the wrong day to puff your chest out. Beat the Cavs before you even think about us.

Certainly, everyone says how the Lakers size will exploit other teams, but the Spurs also have speed this year to push the pace and get easy baskets. I think the Laker bigs wouldn't be able to keep up the entire game...their whole team might not even be able to pickup the pace. It will slow down in the playoffs, but the Spurs know that getting into a half-court game for the most part is not in their interest. I expect to see the Spurs really push the ball even after made baskets.

Screw the Lakers. I'm more concerned with the Mavs.
