Whats really out there
With Dice talking one more year a aging Duncan and Manu isnt a spring chicken and I think signing Splitter is a big must. When you talk CBA Im not a smart man with that stuff dont know the ins and outs on that so I cant disscus it. On to the team I feel that our back court is good for a few more years as it sits
Parker, Hill
Manu, Anderson, Neal
The wing, RJ is good but this is one postion I feel we need some help the FAs out there are Prince, Mbah a Moute, Pietrus(My pick)
Now the post Blair, Dice(If he comes back) and Bonner There is a name out there I would love to see in the silver and black Ronny Turiaf. The man can play the 4 and 5 do the dirty work and block shots. After that maybe guys like Dan Gadzuric, Arron Gray, Jeff Foster or Shane Battier(I really like him but I think he will cost to much). The draft is weak the cba is iffy I just dont feel real good about next year unless something major happens.

Re: Whats really out there
I'd love to have either Turiaf or Foster. Both are guys that could contribute for us and they both fill a void. But the dude I really want this summer is Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. He's a lockdown defender that can defend mutiple postions and he's a great rebounder on both ends.

Marc Gasol is a FA this summer, right? Let's go for him.

Re: Whats really out there
Not liking Turiaf. Yes, he's a guy that can play the 4 and 5, but he's lacking height. The guy isn't a Center. He's as much a Center like Bonner or Dice or Blair. What does he bring that is different than Blair?
Marc Gasol is definitely out of our price range.
And yes, the guy I want is Mbah A Moute. He's still lacking a 3 point corner shot, but he's young enough where he can start learning to shoot from that spot like Bowen did. Perhaps by his second year, he'd be decent at it. RJ will probably still start over him in his first year.

I like Mbah a Moute and Foster. Im sure Gasol is at the top of the grizz list to resign but I would love him in silver and black.

Turiaf can block shots.

We don't have a draft thread yet and maybe we should start one only when the playoffs are done but we still have a first round pick and a future big can come from the draft. I really pray JaJuan Johnson of Purdue somehow lasts till the last pick of the draft so that we can snatch him and form a DeJuan-JaJuan duo.

Re: Whats really out there
So we're drafting based on name appeal now? Honestly, I don't know much about the NCAA game or the FIBA and everything else. I get my info from the same place most casual observers get. Articles and Youtube.
From what I'm hearing lately, the draft is gonna be real weak. Knowing that we'd probably be set for next year with the current lineup and bench (Bonner, Dice/Splitter, Anderson, Neal, Hill), there's really no room for a rookie to break the rotation unless someone drops and we get a huge steal. So I'm saying that I'm definitely not hoping for much when it comes to the draft. We're young enough. And if it's really that weak, I rather have us trade the pick for future ones or perhaps just use it on some international project.

OK, maybe I deserved that one because I didn't elaborate. I've seen Purdue and Johnson play and he is really skilled. I'd compare him to Greg Monroe but he is a senior and will be ready to play. He is projected to go late 1st or early 2nd but his stock has been rising as of lately because of a number of good performances. So I hope he somehow lasts. He is long and would become a center in the league eventually, has good footwork and a versatile offensive game.

Thats a good idea. I love talking about prospects and the draft.

As well as being a huge Spurs fan Im also a huge Boiler fan I love triple Js game. Ive seen the kid go from 185 soaking wet to a inside outside threat 220lbs beast he has good range good timing for blocking shots and a high bb IQ. A few names I like with our last pick are Robin Benzing, Chris Wright, and Damian Saunders. We have to get stronger at the 3!

I like'd what a I saw from him in training camp and he played well for the Toro's this year. I wouldn't mind giving him a 10-day and seeing what he can do at this level.

Re: Whats really out there
Was just looking around NBADraft.net and came across this guy.
http://www.nbadraft.net/players/chris-singleton
Projected to go 24th so he could probably fall to us hopefully. Based on the analysis, sounds like a perfect guy to be our next Bruce Bowen.

Strengths: A small forward with terrific size and length for the position … He is an explosive leaper and has next level athleticism … A very good player in transition, he runs the floor extremely hard and is able to finish plays above the rim in open lane situations … His upper body is well built, and he has the strength to move defenders on drives to the basket … Has developed into a formidable catch and shoot threat … With his feet set he can shoot the ball with range and fairly consistently knock down jumpers from deep … Shows the ability to make shots from the NBA three point line … His biggest impact is on the defensive end, where his size, length, athleticism and terrific instincts make him a lockdown defender … He possesses all the tools to be able to translate his defense to the NBA level … Can guard multiple positions … His ability to anticipate and jump into passing lanes combined with shotblocking, make him a very rare threat on the defensive side of the ball … He is a blue-collar player and is capable of impacting the game without needing the ball in his hands or getting plays called for him … A solid rebounder, he is especially good on the O glass, where he uses his length and athleticism to get to rebounds …
Weaknesses: Not a natural wing player, he is not very smooth with the ball and does not have the ballhandling skills which would allow him to create his shot with consistency … Not a great scorer, lacks the feel and touch around the basket and depends too much on his physical prowess to get him thorough situations… Has the size and length to score with his back to the basket, but his poor footwork and bodycontrol make it hard for him to get good shots off inside … Still a very streaky shooter, especially on the move or off the dribble … He tends to shoot without squaring his body, his stroke is not the most natural, and his release comes too far off his head … His legs are fairly skinny but he is top heavy, which makes his movements awkward but it also gives him poor balance … Improved on his free throw percentage, but it’s still not where it needs to be …

Re: Whats really out there
The guy I really like is Markieff Morris from Kansas. He's strong, athletic, he's got a very B-ball IQ and he's just a really skilled.
