A re-worked contract as well. Imagine if he didn't opt out!

I wasn't impressed by Splitter at all this season, but it was his rookie year and the Spurs system is notoriously tough to crack in that first year. I think he should start next season alongside Timmy. If there is a next season, that is. I like Blair, I think he has great potential to be a poor man's LJ, and think we should hang onto him.

The Big 3 -- it's been mentioned somewhere in here that we would be better off hanging onto them as they are more valuable to us than anything we could possibly get back in a trade. I tend to agree with this, but it doesn't help us much. Manu can still affect the outcome of a game, I don't want him traded. TD looked pretty awful against Memphis, Gasol just manhandled him in the post. It's pretty embarrassing that Pop was saving TD for the playoffs, and that was all we got?

Parker seems to be the only one who might be moved. His body language in the playoffs was not encouraging. He made bad plays, heaps of turnovers, he yelled at teammates more than I've ever seen him do. He was outplayed by Mike Freaking Conley of all players. I don't know what's up with him. Maybe he misses Eva.

Exactly.

After this season, I don't see any reason why anybody should be saved for the playoffs anymore. We had excuses before this season that our guys were injured come playoff time and stuff. We're pretty healthy this time and it's our earliest exit.

Parker, I'm very disappointed. Honestly, I knew TD would have a hard time. And I thought Tony Allen could somehow keep Manu from blowing out. But I expected a 2007 Finals Tony Parker to show up againts Conley. Not this average PG I saw out there. Hell, based on playoff performance, Darren Collison played better than he did. He held his own againts Derrick Rose. Parker was the youngest of the 3 and had the best matchup.

I'm all for getting Casspi. He fits that young athletic 3 who can shoot the 3 we need.

But trading RJ? I just don't see that happening. Not because we don't want to, but because we can't.

Who would want a 30 year old with 3 year and 30 mil left in his contract after this season who is coming off a disappointing playoff performance where he barely plays and is actually considered having a successful REGULAR season after he stopped doing everything he does well (slashing, getting to the line).

If we could trade RJ for... nothing. Trade Exception or capspace or whatever. We don't need to get anything back.

Our best trade chip at this point is probably Tony. And I think now is the time to pull the trigger. although after the dud of a playoffs he had I shudder to think what his market value would be at this point.

I know moving RJ seems impossible, but after Rashard Lewis and Arena's got traded - two of the worst contracts in the NBA - I think anything is conceivable.

Pop has stated that no major moves will be made, which is on him I guess, but if we stand pat we will be mediocre until TD retires. This #1 seed was fool's gold, that got proven pretty quickly by a hungrier Grizz team, and we need to make changes. I don't want to win 60 in the regular season and suck in the playoffs. That's worse than being a lower seed because it raises hope unnecessarily.

Yes, trading Jefferson would be a challenge in itself. Especially after having a bad series. But there have always been teams that acquire questionable contracts of players past their prime so we can always hope. One team I can see him go to is Phoenix, they just have a way of working with veterans, plus he is from Arizona, plus I can kinda see him work in their rotation. I wouldn't mind getting Jared Dudley back for example even though I can't see Phoenix agreeing to that :D
As for trading Tony Parker, he is probably the best value we have but I don't really wanna see him go, especially knowing whoever we get back will probably struggle to fit in our system at least initially.

To think Dallas got Peja for basically nothing after a buyout, he's been way more productive than RJ was for us in the playoffs.
