It's tough to figure. They swept the Lakers so you've got to think that we wouldn't have fared much better. It just wasn't our time. If the playoffs started in January we would've romped to another title. We were red hot then. But we sputtered into April and Pop not resting our guys vs Phx at the end of the regular season cost us a healthy Manu. Injuries to Parker and TD toward the end certainly didn't help, and then there's the lineup change of Blair for Dice that just made no sense. We had a ridiculously good record with the lineup of TP-Manu-RJ-TD-Blair and Pop changed it right towards the end and we basically never saw Blair again.

Watching these playoffs, I still can't believe it's Dallas in the finals. I'm still wondering what would happen if we didn't meet Memphis. I am really confident if we are to meet Dallas.

Well.. At the same time, I'm thinking we lost to Memphis, who lost to OKC, who lost to Dallas.. So how close exactly are we to that Dallas team?

I believed we would be better team than the Mavs coming into the playoffs, but that is kinda silly now because we couldn't beat Memphis. I said it when the Mavs lost to the Warriors that they weren't championship contender. The same logic applies to us. We can play the what if game, but the Mavs are in the finals and 1 game away from the Title. You can't take anything away from them and it is disingenuous to say that we would have beat them. Much props to them...

Just an idea, haven't really looked into it but a trade idea came to me.

The kings are in need of a pg, so how about a trade based around Tony Parker and Jason Thompson?

Thompson is playing behind cousins if I'm not mistaken and if any one knows that Parker is an upgrade over udrih it's us.

TP and Dice for Pau Gasol. It works financially for both teams. Get 'er done.

I'd love to have Pau, but I don't think the Lakers would make a deal with us.

I was half-kidding at the time, but I actually think it's a trade that works for both teams. Tell me that they couldn't use a player like Parker, with his ability to penetrate the lane. He's obviously a massive upgrade over the corpses they've got running the point ATM, and Brown won't be running the triangle, so they could use someone of TP's caliber.

But you're right, the Lakers probably wouldn't trade with us anyway, and they could probably get more than TP + filler in a Gasol trade.

Arent they gunning for a late 90's offence we had with the twin towers? They'll probably be hanging on to Gasol and Bynum pretty tight. I really can't see them giving Gasol away for Parker and filler. Would be totally awesome though.

I don't know, on paper the deal looks pretty fair. We might need to add a bit to get it done, like a first and/or cash. But I just can't see us and the Lakers making a deal.

I do like the idea of making a deal with the Kings though. Something centered around Casspi, Thompson and the 7th pick would work for me.

Do we really trust Hill to be our starting point though?

I don't really mind the idea of hill running the show, he did a pretty good job whenever he was had to fill in for parker.

However if we did swing the 7th pick out of sac town, kemba walker should still be on the board at 7.

Would you send TP to Charlotte for the #9 and #19 overall picks? Maybe draft a couple of Euro-bigs like Vesely, Valanciunias, or Motiejunas.

Not in this draft. Picks 9 and 19 might as well be second round picks from any other year. Surely Parker is worth more than that.
