We may hate RJ, but nobody in the our squad is better than him right now and all the better options in the FA got signed.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Leonard has looked pretty good in preseason and i've heard nothing but good things about him in practice. I can really see Kawhi taking over the starting spot after about 20 games.

I've watched both pre-season games and Kawhi did not look good at all. His shot was off both games and his defense did not look as good as i thought it would be, considering people were comparing him to Marion/Wallace before the draft.

Still, the kid is young and he has plenty of time to develop his game and get to know the Spurs environment better. We may not like it, but right now Jefferson is our starting SF and i don't see Kawhi taking his spot. Not this season.

Anderson, on the other hand, looked great. Considering that Neal will miss a few weeks to recover from his appendectomy, i see him taking Neal's spot as our main backup SG.

Leonard did look lost on offense, but SF's new too him so its going to take some time for him to get comfortable out there. And his shot coming along according to,Jeff McDonald and Tim Griffin. They've both been raving about his shooting in practice so hopefully he starts shooting better in games.

But I really liked what I seen from him on defense and on the boards in the preseason. He was solid on the ball and relentless on the glass.

If RJ keeps putting in piss poor efforts like he did last year I can see Pops giving Kawhi a shot after a few games. We have enough scorers on the roster, we need defense and rebounding from the 3 spot and those are two things RJ can't give us.

I'm hoping this happens. We desperately need an injection of serviceable youth and something to get excited about for a post-Duncan Spurs.
