GT: Jazz vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sat Dec 31, 2011 12:13 am

When: 8:30 PM ET, December 31, 2011
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Starting Lineups:

Jazz:
PG - Devin Harris
SG - Raja Bell
SF - Gordon Hayward
PF - Derrick Favors
C - Al Jefferson

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobili
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

We're coming a very disapointing loss to the Rockets, but we should be well rested and ready for the Jazz on saturday.

This should be a relatively easy win for us considering the Jazz are in the middle of a youth movement. Hopefully we can bury them early and give our vets some extra rest.

Go Spurs!!

Your team is clearly favorite, as you say, due to our youth.
Still, we have a lot of energy and maybe we will give your team more problems than expected.

Said that, theres 80% chances of a Spurs win.

Favors is going to play big... but ultimately think we'll come out strong mentally for a win

Leonard in for RJ early (fouls)... and showing off... his ability to rebound well + dribble up on the break and make plays will be an added element for this team! I like it a lot

Duncan 1/7 (but with 7 boards)... yet up by 15 at half

Be interesting to see what Utah tries to do on Manu in the 2nd half, he's got 19 with five damn threes

Duncan forces a lot of shots out there. Blair looking great to start the season. Ginobili with the monster 1st half. TP isn't playing like TP right now. I like what I'm seeing from Leonard, though he looks fairly...detached?

Slowly, I'm forgetting how Duncan used to get his points. He plays the game at one speed and doesn't really have an explosiveness anymore when it comes to making his moves. It almost looks like he's jogging when he tries to drive by people. He also takes a long time to gather himself when he's about to shoot those 18 footers. As much as we need post up scoring from this team, I just feel like i'm more confident when Blair and Splitter is in the low block now. And trust me, that is as odd as it gets. Blair and Splitter a better postup scorer.

This season, more than ever, I think we're gonna need Manu to show up every game. I get a feeling that when Manu doesn't show up, we'll lose. It's mainly because I'm starting to find Duncan and Parker to be undependable. Parker, especially, needs to get back to his 2007 form if we are to go anywhere. So far, he hasn't shown that.
