GT: Kings vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Fri Jan 20, 2012 4:49 am

When: 8:30 PM ET, January 20, 2012
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Starting Lineups:

Kings:
PG - Tyreke Evans
SG - Marcus Thornton
SF - John Salmons
PF - Jason Thompson
C - DeMarcus Cousins

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Kawhi Leonard
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

Well we're coming off our first road win of the season to face the Kings at home.

The key to winning this game is going to shutting down Evans. We can't let him get into the paint and we need to make him a jumpshooter.

Go Spurs!!

Spurs by 10. Evans will have a good game but be cancelled out by Parkers output. The rest of our team will hold their own and then some.

Go Spurs Go!

Yeah, no reason for us to lose this game. We're at home, we're rested, and we haven' exactly been playing all that well lately. We'll win comfortably. I wanna see Kawhi on Tyreke.

Kings fans here, what a first half.

Think this may go down to last shot.

Well I was particularly disappointed with the defense the last few minutes. We were up 84-78, and then we gave up two uncontested midrange shots to John Salmons off a P&R. Then another to Tyreke. The shot was totally uncontested. And then the last play with Danny's runner, I don't know, but I've never seen Danny take runners (or floaters) before so it just doesn't look like a good shot for me. And it badly missed the rim. It's not "a little short" like in his post game comments.. It's more like "Way too short". It barely graced the front rim man.. If that was the kind of shot we would get out of the play, i'm just not sure why it's not design for a Parker and TD p&r instead. Parker's the best at that floater and Danny said it was either take the shot himself or drop it to TD.

Well that was a game we should of won. But I think all the travel over the last couple days had a lot to do with it.

We didnt execute well at all, but man did Tyreke kill us! We just arent playing the team defense we need to against top level scorers..
