Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Daniel Green
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

Trailblazers:
PG - Raymond Felton
SG - Nicolas Batum
SF - Gerald Wallace
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge
C - Marcus Camby

We're going into the second night of a back to back on road against a very tough Blazers team.

The key to this one is going to be stopping Aldridge, if we can contain him we can win this game.

Go Spurs!!

We're sitting both Duncan and Parker tonight.

This is gonna get ugly. We have no PG play and no Centers... Starting Joseph, Green, RJ, Leonard, and Blair. Our Tallest guy is 6'7'', while Blazers starts Crawford, Batum, Wallace, LMA, Camby. Notice their smallest player is the 6'5'' Crawford.

We're leading 20-19 but doing it in ways that we normally won't see but it's not gonna keep up. There's no ball penetration. It would be nice if we still have TJ Ford cause atleast someone there can do what Parker does. And then there's no post up game. Our post up game have come from Blair and I honestly cringe. He's out there againts Camby and LMA in the post. We're launching threes too much but lucky we're making it. 2 already from leonard and another from RJ. Spacing on the floor isn't good either.

And we finish the 1st quarter down 23-41 right after I post that. 22-3 run by the Blazers. It's not so much that the Blazers were hot shooting the ball, they're getting wide open three point shots. It's not surprising that they're making it if they're that wide open. Our defense is all over the place not looking right at all. Our offense isn't what we used to play since there's no Parker/Ford and no post up game from Duncan/Splitter.

Just to see how bad the PG play and Center play is right now, look at the current lineup.

Green, Anderson, Leonard, RJ, Blair. 30-48 right now in the 2nd quarter.

I understand we're resting the guys and gonna lose, but I was actually hoping to see something good from the young guys. It's just disappointing that what we're putting out there on he floor right now is nothing close to resembling a decent offense or defense.

Let's just talk about the young guys we're getting extended look at i guess.

James Anderson has a knack of getting people up in the air using his shot fake, but sadly he's not using it to get a foul ala Reggie Miller. I've seen that a few times this year.

Cory Joseph is a Jacque Vaughn type of PG. He can't penetrate and can't shoot. Has the potential to be those Vaughn type Steady backup PG.

Kawhi Leonard has athleticism, but he's an awful fastbreak finisher. I think he needs to work on his handles too because he's so much slower when he's dribbling the ball.

Well, this game killed our defensive rating. We were right on par with OKC until the poor performance by the 3rd unit last night.

I guess if we constantly exclude this game in refernece to our defensive rating, maybe we'll get a better idea of how good or bad it really is for the rest of the year. Our DRating increased by almost an entire point after giving up two basically 70 point halves. :\

Our defense really blows without Duncan and Parker. The offense isn't any better off either, but having no TJ Ford or Splitter heavily contributed to both problems too.

Hey, at least we can still say our only loss during the rodeo trip (so far) was one we intentionally gave up to rest starters due to the lengthy trip. I really don't count that as a legit loss tbh. It was just a big stat pad fest for Portland.

Well Duncan and Parker both needed a night and without them we really had no shot at winning this one.

As bad as the score looks games like this are really going to help us later on in the season. Our best players got some much needed rest and our young guys got some much needed experience.
