DeJuan Blair on the block

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Jun 28, 2012 4:19 pm

The Spurs are shopping DeJuan Blair, according to sources.

Blair fell out San Antonio's rotation during the 11-12 season and is also open to a move.

The Spurs own the draft rights to several European prospects that they are interested in clearing roster space for.

Not exactly shocking news, most of us thought this would happen. But what do you guys think we could get for him?

It would be great if we are able to get a 1st rounder. Getting only a 2nd round pick would be a disappointment to me. Frankly, Blair played very well for us and was as good as advertised after coming out of college without succumbing to his ACL-less knees as other teams' GMs feared. Unfortunately, he almost didn't play in the playoffs so we didn't exactly show him off to potential suitors.

I really hope some team falls for the solid per-minute averages and the fact he's been injury-free since becoming a pro and allows us to move into the first round.

It's not easy for teams to find a productive PF. He can rebound and score. Has good hands and is a good finisher.
He's 22, low contract, proven player, good guy with work ethic. I don't see why we can't land a top 15 o 20 player in the draft.

Both Boston and Memphis are shopping their firsts. Boston wants to move up and Memphis wants to dump their pick.

Not surprised at this, from both sides. He's regressed since his rookie year and seems to have a bad attitude. Might be best to part ways with him but I'm not expecting much back for him.

Blair was a beast in his rookie year, then he got fat, stopped rebounding and never really improved his offensive game, especially adding a mid-range jumpshot.

It's a shame because he is talented despite his size.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”
