Rebounding has been a knock on Brook and he is a worse defender then Monroe. He is not very athletic. That said I wouldn't mind him on the Spurs (if you move Splitter). One thing he can do is be an efficient scorer. Diam would be a nice complement at Center.

I like him but he is also kinda the same player as Splitter. Maybe a little more aggressive around the rim. Do you want to keep Splitter and go after Lopez or move Splitter and replace him with Lopez?

Another guy I love but has a team option is Timofey Mozgov. If Cleveland somehow fails and does not pick up his option (I know that's a long shot) he would be a great addition. I really like his game and he probably wouldn't be asking for the moon. The Cavs season turned around immediately when they picked him up IMO and made them a contender. For that reason I doubt they let him go but they have done stupid things before :)

Mozgov kind of has that Spurs look about him = foreign white guy. As you say though he helped turn their season around so don't see them letting him go especially if Lebron wants him there.

What do you guys think about Robin Lopez? Injuries are an issue but he'd give us some much needed rim protection, toughness and rebounding. He'll be pricey but he'd also be a great fit.

I don't know if he gives you anything more than what Splitter does? He also has had significant injuries - 5 of the 7 years in the NBA he has missed at least 23 games or more.

If your looking for something at Center - do a little research on 2015 Draftee Robert Upshaw. The Spurs could get a steal if they can get his head straight. Maybe this is the kind of team he could flourish on - if he gets past his demons you have a top 10 talent. The pick comes with some risk so you may want to trade back to the top of the 2nd if you can.

Not too high on Upshaw (no pun intended) he's got a ton of talent but he's far from polished on the court and he's got a ton of off court issues to sort out. I'd take him late in the 2nd round if he's still on the board, but I wouldn't use a first on him.

Yeah, I really don't think we get an upgrade with either of the Lopez brothers. Unless one of them is cheaper than keeping Splitter around.

He could make it to the 2nd- I understand the reluctance of using a 1st. Spurs would probably have to trade up to get him in the the 2nd- knowing the Spurs they might have him completely off the board for the off-court issues. It will be interesting to see who takes a chance on him and if he can stay clean.

I don't see how Brook is anything like Tiago. Perhaps Robin.. but not Brook. And I think Brook can play with Splitter. Splitter has very good foot speed for a big guy and has been defending PFs with Duncan guarding Centers. Defensively, it shouldn't be a problem. Offensively, Brook is a strong low post player and can hit the midrange jumper. When healthy, Brook can do anything Duncan did last year on offense. So assuming Duncan retires, Brook is a good replacement IMO.
