If a big that can contribute this season slides, then that always takes priority, but I highly doubt that happens this season. Plus, I expect a free agent to shake up the big rotation.

Hunter is a possibility - even a good amount of people on Bucks board are talking Hunter at #17. Personally I'm not a big fan.

Right now I think the Spurs will Draft Rashad Vaughn 2G UNLV.

All I can go by is sites scouting report so I'll give my 2 cents.

I don't think Tyus Jones is our type of PG. The scout basically says he's a steady PG who lacks quickness and speed and he's not a rim attacker. That's not really how we use our PGs. We need PGs who attack the rim to open up the 3s.

RJ Hunter looks like someone who fit in with the system. Scouting report basically says he's strictly a shooter though.

Delon Wright might fit in too. He's got SG size and some PG skills. Considering Patty is signed long term, we can really use a ballhandling SG.

Guillermo Hernangomez sounds like Pop's type of big man. His scouting report basically screams Tiao Splitter IMO.

Terry Rozier definitely sounds like someone who can have a future on our system.

Danilo Fuzaro sounds like someone we can use too. He's Brazilian, Got a SG size with combo guard's game.

Olivier Hanlan also sounds like someone we can use. He's basically a scoring guard but he's good at attacking the basket so that's a start.

The guy that totally opened my eyes though is Norman Powell.

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/norman-powell

I mean WTF.. He's basically everything I'd want. A SG with ballhandling skill, athletic, attacks the rim, strong body, decent size, and plays strong defense.

I expect the decision to come down to Hunter, Luwawu and Frazier, I honestly will go with Luwawu, higher potential, french guy, Hunter is a chucker and Frazier could fit right in but I dont see the Spurs going traditional there.
Norman Powell is Shannon Brown.

What you say about Jones makes sense. I think Hunter is the most overrated player in the draft. I don't know if I want another Splitter - never cared much for him, I hope we can unload him.

Might the Spurs surprise is all with the hyper athletic and long 3D guard from Arkansas?

If I'm the Spurs, I look to trade into the second round for a couple of picks. I would talk to either Minnesota, Philadelphia, or Boston as they have multiple picks in the second round. The players I would look into would be.

Timothe Luwawu
Richaun Holmes
Daniel Diez
Arturas-Gudaitis- draft and stash
Nikola-Milutinov-draft and stash

I could see the Spurs moving the 26th pick to Minny or Philly for either of their 2 picks in the early second round. Unless there was just really someone they were really in love with at 26, a 2 for 1 might make the most sense, especially in a deep draft.

I would be all for that. Pick up a guy like Christmas, Qualls, Tokoto, Harvey, Frazier or Holmes to bolster the depth chart then use the other pick on stash prospect like Osman, Gudaitis or someone else.

Currently the Spurs do have a second round pick. So if the idea suggested about acquiring the two second round picks, that would put the Spurs count at three. Draft two who can play right away and use the other for a draft and stash or however they want to do it.

I agree with both of ya'll...now the question is, will the #26 be enough to get 2 early second rounders or would it have to be the #26 and our second rounder this year or maybe a future second? Either way I think it would be smart to move the #26 unless some lottery prospect fell that far or something similarly crazy happens. Picking a player that stays a year a year or two overseas would give us that much more cap room to chase whoever, unless the prospect at #26 was a draft and stash, that would work as well. One thing is for sure, with CIA Pop running the show, all we can do is guess, like everyone else.

Is anyone else excited?? I've read that the Spurs are shopping Splitter and looking to move up. I think tonight will be pretty fun!

I can't shake the feeling that we're just not going to draft anyone.

The FO is trying to open up as much cap space as possible for the big fish and signing our own Free Agents. If there was no trade, I think we'd draft and stash. If there was a trade, I think it's either to move into the early second round so that we don't have a guaranteed contract locked up on the payroll or for a future second rounder. If we package it with Splitter, then it's likely as a incentive for someone to take him off our hands, which means it's not to move up.

Can't wait for tonight. The draft is basically my favorite night of the year.

Still have no idea who we're going to pick but a guy i've been warming up to is Anthony Brown. Guy's a light's out shooter and he could jump into the rotation right away.

I'm with you, I love draft night with the Spurs because they're such a wild card. The Kawhi draft was awesome! There's a lot of guys I'd be happy with if we trade up: Dekker, Kaminsky, Payne, Looney , Grant. If they stay put I'd be down with Rozier, Vaughan, Anderson. Mostly I want a gaurd since it's looking more and more likely the Spurs will end up with LMA.

SG should be priority number one. I can't see us keeping both Danny and Marco so drafting a SG would be the cheapest way to fill that void.

Grant or Anderson would be perfect.

4 picks until we're on the clock. Hollis-Jefferson, Looney, Portis, Jones and Hunter are all still on the board. Would looovvveee to get one of those guys.

Not bad of a draft the Spurs had. Looks like Nikola-Milutinov, one of the players I listed earlier in the thread turned out to be a draft and stash for the Spurs. Who knew?
