Manu out a month after surgery

The San Antonio Spurs won't have Manu Ginobili for at least a month.

The team said the veteran guard had testicular surgery Thursday in San Antonio and will be sidelined at least four weeks.

A team trainer and teammate Tim Duncan helped Ginobili to the locker room late in the fourth quarter after the guard collapsed to the court and doubled over in pain from an apparent knee to the groin area from New Orleans' Ryan Anderson. The Pelicans power forward was whistled on the play for an offensive foul.

I guess that knee to the groin really did some damage. I really feel bad for the dude.

Oh wow! It looked bad but I had no idea it was that bad. If the timetable is right he will have decent time to get back in shape for the playoffs. Honestly, we need others to learn how to step up for the playoffs besides Manu so hopefully this will be a good time for them to do it.

That really sucks :(
I honestly felt he was having one of his better seasons in recent memory this year.

As someone said in the General board, I think this is a blessing in disguise.

Great chance for the bench to learn to play without him.

Yeah I agree with the Spurs fellow above

It's time for Kyle and Simmons to show what they're made off. I would love to see Anderson leading the 2nd unit full-time. In my opinion, that's the best position for him in SA. 6th man running the 2nd unit "a la Manu"
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

It could be but my biggest worry is that we really don't have anyone that can replace his playmaking.
