GT: Spurs vs. Pelicans

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Mar 3, 2016 5:47 pm

When: 6:00 PM MT March 3rd 2016
Where: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans LA

Second night of back to back but that shouldn't be an excuse. This Pelicans team is beat up and we should beat up on them.

Go Spurs!!

Wow, Pop timeout 1 and a half minutes into the game and pulls Parker out.

Then Kawhi doing his MJ impression again, wow.

Sorry Pop, but that is just plain rude and disrespectful what you just did to Sager. The game has given you millions upon millions of dollars, how about giving something back to the fans watching.

First half offense looks pretty good but the D was lazy. Down 1 at the half is not a good sign.

I know we have the best record in franchise history but its because this league sucks. I absolutely HATE the way we play offensively.
I just turned on the game before half for 2 fade away bricks and Patty Mills falling down and turning the ball over for no reason.....

Does anyone on this team even know what we are doing offensively? Everything is tentative like no one knows what plays we are even running. LMA passes up a wide open 12 foot shot to flail in the lane a throw up a fall away bank shot that has no chance of going in....sigh. This is soo frustrating to watch....

NO can score and we are letting them get too comfortable offensively. I got a bad feeling about this.

Kawhi is 9-17 and 5-7 from three so not sure what game you are watching.

I think the offense struggles when we have both West and Anderson out there. West takes (and misses) too many 20 footers and Anderson simply can't score and almost never looks to score. It's almost like 3vs5 when those two are out there.

We looked good in the first half, especially when Mills and Miller were paired in the backcourt. Not sure what Pop's rotations are going for. I mean we started the quarter before with West, Anderson, Butler, Mills and Leonard. Madness.

I started watching just before half. I know you said they played well early but I haven't seen it since I tuned in. What Ive seen is the same sluggish discombobulated offensive we have been playing the last month. And New Orleans can score so they are starting to pull away.

Kawhi did hit a couple threes in the 3rd and LMA hit his last couple but we still look horrible in the half court offense. Fast break we look ok though.

Mills and Leonard are the two players who really turn on the gas for this team.

Aldridge showed a bit of fight and some spark in the 4th as well but the rest of the team are lazy and get complacent too often during games.

Danny Green with I think the worst plus minus the whole game until we turned it on in the end. Let's just sign Kevin Martin already. He will hit a lot more of those open threes and work harder off the ball than Green does.

Kawhi 30pts, 6-10 on threes including the dagger, 11reb, 3ast, 2stl, 2blks. Such a beast.

I'm with you there. Mills and Leonard are the only ones who seem aggressive offensively at all. Tony Parker does every fifth game or so. Certainly not tonight. Everyone else just seems to stand around and take fade away jump shots. Its like they don't know where the belong on the floor. This is what frustrates me. There seems to be no fluidity to this team offensively. We used to move the ball around and create easy shots.

Remember the championship year or even last year, how we used to pass the ball around and everyone was moving and we seemed to always get a good looking shot? There are dozens of Youtube videos showing it. This team does not move the ball like that.

I guess I'm a little spoiled by those teams from the past but it concerns me how this team is playing. We did finish up the game great tonight though.

The fluidity isn't there because of West and Anderson imo. Well the main reasons anyway.

The D doesn't really respect West from the top of the dotted line and they don't respect Anderson at all with or without the ball and with good reason. He really needs to be able to hit three at least as well as Diaw imo if he wants to stay in this league and get decent minutes.

I think the next reason the offense isn't as fluid is Danny Green. It's been very, very obvious that teammates are looking for him less and at least a few times per game you see Parker look to find someone, see it's Green and look elsewhere.

Then the other reason is the ball stopping a bit with Aldridge still not sure if he should take the shots he did in Portland and obviously the new reliance on Leonard's post game.

I really think Martin might give us an option we haven't had this year and at this stage would welcome him with open arms.
