G A M E D A Y: Spurs vs. Warriors

Post#1 » by -Sammy- » Wed Mar 29, 2017 8:46 pm

WHEN: Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 8:30PM Central
WHERE: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
TV: ESPN
LINE: San Antonio -4.5

With the regular season winding down, the Spurs will need to stay focused and make sure they don't overlook this mid-week game against some relatively obscure team from some other division. It'll be hard for fans to find motivation to tune in for this one, as NEXT Wednesday's game against the Lakers is the one everyone's really gearing up for.

Alright, I hope everyone appreciated my little joke. Truth-be-told, this is a close to must-see NBA as there is in what remains of the season, and I'm looking at this as the all-or-nothing game as far as seeding goes; if we win tonight, the hope of the 1-seed is very much alive, but if we lose, I think Pop calls it and transitions into minutes-massage-mode to prepare for the playoffs. Let's hope it's a good game, win or lose!

I completely agree. This is going to be an important one and it's also one we can easily win. If we play like we played against the Cav's we've got a shot at sweeping the Warriors on the season which is huge.

Would be nice to win but not a necessity. I just want us to put a good stretch of games together where we play well as a team. I don't see Pop pushing for the #1 seed regardless if we win or lose.

23-3 to start. That's acceptable, I suppose.

man parker is slow on the switch or chasing his man through the screen, and they exploiting him with the mismatch, easy points and fouls

Maybe its me. I didn't watch the Cleveland game. Not one second. I watch this game and its the same garbage I've seen all year from us. People passing up open shots to take incredibly bad shots. We cant guard anyone and let useless stiffs like David West pick us apart. We turn the ball over like its going out of style. Danny Green is completely worthless offensively.

The only reason we win games is because the teams we beat usually play more horribly than we do, or Kawhi has to play hero ball. I'm really not looking forward to the playoffs. We are going to get beat by any team that has a pulse.

parker crap then gsw rookie pg?
mills cant even defend anyone, let alone his always stuck on mismatches or always has his back towards the ballhandler who passes to the guy on him for easy basket, hence where was the defense tonight? cant draw fouls against a shooting team

as for pop, whats with the rotations lately? is he going to actually coach or continue to give up? what was parker still doing out there in the 2nd quarter blowing a 20pt lead, then continues to play him in the 2nd half where gsw continue to abuse him with the mismatch......whose idea was it to close the 3rd quarter with kawhi on t he bench with 2mins to play, then only gets back into the game at the 6min mark 4th quarter?...

the hot hand cooled down after the first quarter, danny green disappearing or continue to put ball onto floor only to pass it to ref

lma and pau had good games, +lee also, and kyle...everyone else went 1 gear in and downshift to parking doing nothing

all that hardwork from kawhi in the first quarter being point forward cause spurs have no real playmaker pg :(

only to diminish at the hands of the pg who still thinks he has game....why do they continue to play parker? paying him 14m a year doesnt mean u force to play him, just tell him to stay home or sit at the end of the bench and enjoy watching the game or go do something else

rodney stuckey just got bought out, bring him in?

disappointing game, especially considering our strong start. We just fell apart and couldn't score consistently after that first quarter.

Things I liked:

- LMA - 17 and 6 with 4 blocks. Not eye popping numbers but he was efficient when he had the ball, fought hard on the glass and played some great defense. This is exactly what we need from him on nightly basis. Keep it up big fella.

- Pau - He was only guy that really did anything for us off the bench and he gave us a lot.

- Danny - Hit some big 3's early on and played some great defense, not a fan of how Pop's utilized him on the defensive end but he did good.

Things I didn't like:

- Kawhi - He was great on the boards, excellent on the defensive end and he made some nice passes but he could not score effectively. His jumper was off and he just wasn't a consistent threat tonight. He also looks tired.

- Tony - He no showed tonight. Wasn't a threat on the offensive end in any capacity and he got bullied on the defensive end. Right now he's the weak link on this team.

why doesnt pop play his strongest defensive lineup? i dont think u need a pg, when u got kl and anderson who can handle the ball without turning it over, just hope danny green doesnt put ball onto the floor or trying to play a 2man game with one of the bigs while ignoring the safest pass is the closest guy to him...

centre/anderson/kl/simmons/green? the 4 smaller players can all switch around on the perimeter or crash the boards if needed...offensively they will struggle to score cause anderson is passive shooter but has no problem driving, green is streaky, simmons is not known to take open jumpers or not a good shooter but will attack the rim hard...can replace any of the smaller guys with either ginoboli for more stability

Pops won't Dis Parker and Ginobli but time caught up to them. danny Green was BIG early then... meh. For GSW... this game has to be BIG. For Spurs it's scary. Spurs had a SUPER stat. Then.....what?

With the Cavs going sucky lately.....it looks like it's the best of GSW/Spurs. Durant will be ready before the playoffs. just sayin'. Kawhi has been Star, LMA often is real good. Others.. a bit streaky. My take? Spurs are the #2 best in the NBA....but THIS game is one you need to look at...a bunch.
CENSORED... No comment.
