In the short term, punishment isn't always meted out fairly, but it is in the long run. I've never seen Pachulia do nothing more than an illegal screen before, though I've heard others say he's been dirty in the past. If the truth be known, Curry is fouled on just about every play away from the ball when he tries to cut around screens and is held, so we don't get the favorable calls like you say
Personally I'd like to see each team playing with all of its players at their best. People say we son without Love and Irving, but last year we had a suspension of Green at a critical juncture and a gimpy Curry. We choked and I don't blame it on anyone but our team. Injuries are a major part of the game

Sitting Kawhi is the only decision that makes any sense. Whatever slim hope remains of us winning the series, it's going to require the kind of effort from the team that would be needed to win tonight without Leonard anyhow, so if Pop can coax such an effort from them, he's got to do it here, and if he can't, getting Kawhi back wouldn't have mattered anyhow.

Well said! I've been saying all along that this team isn't winning a championship because it relies too much on Kawhi. People need to step and do some things they haven't done all year tonight to get a win. If they can't do it then the inevitable will happen anyway.

anyone not name lma is outplaying lma...

lma cant even score with a miidget curry defending him on t he low block, yet settles for the jump brick...im done with this clown

even though spurs are 4 wins away from advancing, keeping the same roster for next season will be same result, spurs need to get rid of gasol/lma in the summer

I've looked at the injury video many times and still don't see an intentional foul on Pachulia's part. He hasn't had an issue with dirty play this year, so I don't know about reports he's been a dirty player in the past. I take him at his word, and that is that he didn't intentionally injure Kawhi.

Nolan wrote:The rebounding battle is going to be important tonight. If we control the glass we can control the pace of the game and bring it to a grinding halt. We can still win this game if we force the Warriors to play our style.

The Warriors dogged some serious foul trouble related bullets in game 1. If we continue to work them over in the post maybe we can better capitalize on their lack of depth tonight.
GSW's bench is a bit variable bt.. they are used to having a 10 deep rotation. We just had a game where McCaw,Livingston,Clark.. EACH scored 10+. Then McGee + West ....who'd started a LOT in the NBA are C depth and IGGY is a contender for Best 6th man. GSW has a huge toolbox a lot of options. That's a big reason they are on top and if you THINK you see a real weakness.....you can't count on that. The SPURS are GOOD...of course.. but need LUCK to overcome that GSW is better and owns home advantage. Full strength? Spurs have no fear of a sweep. However... Spurs ain't 100% and when you get down to the REAL top dogs.. health issues DO matter.

as to Zaza and Kawhi, some intended "dirty" ..in this case.. ain't in Zaza's skillset. By the time KL was coming down, Zaza was turning, looking to the basket. If Zaza wants to go dirty, he more likely slams you with a hard pick or elbows you under the rim.
That Kawhi had that ankle tweeked TWICE.. made it more "problem". Otherwise it's no big thing.
CENSORED... No comment.

Most people with realistic expectations of the Spurs this year didn't expect us to win this series anyway. Because of the Durant move and Lamarcus Aldridge being basically a bust for us meant we are still a couple of moves away from being title contenders. I expected us to lose in five game this series even without any injuries.

The league has been in this situation before. Back when there was Boston and LA then everyone else. There were good teams like us back then but not great teams to overcome powerhouses. We are going to have to wait another year or two until GS and Cleveland burn themselves out I'm afraid. Thats just how the talent is spread right now. We could have been close (we actually are close) but Aldridge needed to be a star and he clearly is not.

This Spurs team needs to find a guard that can penetrate and score, and we need to find a solution to the Aldridge problem. We are this close to contending. This is going to be talked about later but my solution is to move Kawhi to Point-Forward much like Milwaukee does with Giannis and then try to lure another swingman/scorer here since there seems to be plenty of them wanting to move. Then Kawhi can still do what he does but not be relied upon to score as much as we do now with another scorer on the floor. Either a 3 or 4.(depending on what happens with LA)

It wasnt going to happen this year no matter how well we played the rest of the league. Eventually we would have gotten to this point and there are 2 teams we cannot overcome because of the way we play. We just don't have enough.

Yeah, with Kawhi likely sitting tonight and us down yet another rotation piece in Lee, we're just playing for pride and experience from here, but I hope we force a G5 just for the sake of doing it. Assuming we don't pull off the greatest comeback in the history of American sports, I'll be pulling for the wine and gold for the third straight year in the Finals, but until we're officially out:

People always rave about how good we are defensively. These people are still living in 2014 because this team is pretty damn horrible on defense.

Also, everytime we start to make a run, Danny Green takes a shot and the run is over instantly...

It's always a heartbreaker, ain't it, friends? But glance at my sig if you're down for too long; we've had it good. Think about how many of these teams and these superstars are still trying to get their first.

GO CAVS; don't let the cupcake get any frosting.

so now the spurs has 2 more years to make kawhi happy or else his leaving if he doesnt think FO is doing enough to build a contender around him...

nearly everyone outplayed lma in the wcf, so much for 20m a year wanting to win a championship without working for it
pau needs to traded
u dont need bigs in todays perimeter league, spurs should sign defensive bigs who can score hustle points..

gino, parker, mills, green should leave also...especially mills and green, they have regress so much this season getting pass on reputation coatriding the spurs team record

6-8 new players? for next season?

Disappointing series.

The Kawhi injury was the end of it. I strongly believe that if he wouldn't of gotten hurt we would of at the very least taken this to 7.

But we can't dwell too much on this. We had a good regular season won two playoff rounds and now we have to build on that and continue to improve.
