G A M E D A Y: Spurs (35-23) @ Denver (30-26), 930PM Central

WHERE: Pepsi Center, Denver, CO
TV: TNT (national broadcast), FOX Sports SW
VEGAS: O/U 208, Denver -7

Well, no rest for the weary and all that. After a tough loss to the surging Jazz-- a game we played well despite being shorthanded, but couldn't close out down the stretch-- we get a red-eye game in the mile-high city, which is a tough spot to play under the best circumstances.

We get another team that's been playing well lately, too (7-3 in their last 10, including a recent W over GS). They're still short one Paul Millsap, though, and young firebrand Jamal Murray is a question mark with a sore chest, so this is as good a time as any for the Spurs to gut out an inspiring bootstrap win. Pop, if you're reading this, my advice is to put all the playcards featuring Kyle Anderson in a separate deck; then, in the last two minutes of the game, do NOT use that deck.

 I had a notion to post a South Park "Goddamnit, Kyle!" .gif after the game, but thought better of it.

I hope he proves us wrong tonight. The devil - and win - is in the details. Let's hope we mind them for 48 minutes tonight. Physicality, movement, and smart execution on both ends.

GO SPURS!

Well we put up a fight, but with soo many guys out we just cant score with people.
I have to admit I dont like Lauvergne, but he played his ass off tonight. Without him we lose this game by 30 and that's not an exaggeration.
We did ok offensively in the first half but once the game got tighter and the defenses tightened up, we have no one who can make a shot consistently.
Parker was great but he can only do soo much and it was obvious he was gassed at times.
Hopefully Ginoibli is ok or we are further screwed.
Mills is just killing us. There is no other way to sugar coat it. Its not entirely his fault, we are just relying upon him way too much and he is incapable.
We can chalk this up as another growing experience for the younger guys I guess.

GOAT Pop drew up the classic nine-point play for Kyle, alas... :-?

Joff was all kinds of terrific and tough for us tonight. Great to see him gut it out, and the rest of our Spurs, too.

We left, what, about 50 points per game back in San Antonio?

^ Agree with everything else, imagump.

I still don't think we're just letting this season go. From interviews, we really stress importance of getting wins. I mean it's one thing for players to be getting 'learning minutes', but half of our team comprises of vets who expect to compete in the playoffs, and I think the young guys want it, too.

This break couldn't come soon enough. Feels too late in the season, doesn't it? Not balanced to have it with 3/4 of the games already played. Anyway, we need the rest. I hope our team enjoys it, and we come back rejuvenated and ready to finish strong together. I feel proud of how we've been playing of late, and hope we get good results for our better effort.

GET BETTER, MANU! Love him and his competitive spirit. It's infectious.

Edit:
Read on Twitter

Phew! And keeping fingers crossed.

I agree, I dont think they are letting the season go at all. I just dont think we have a "win at all costs" mentality after all the injuries at this point.
Its more like a "lets wait and see and hopefully something good happens" mentality.

Like you mentioned we are a veteran team, seeding is less important to us as some other teams like Minnesota or Utah. If we can get healthy maybe we could make this interesting.

Brutal. Thank the heavens for all-star break.
