When: Tonight, 6:30 PM MT
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX
After two disappointing 4th quarter collapses we really need a convincing win tonight and we better win this one.
This should be an easy win for us. We can't play down to their level, we have to bring our A game and we HAVE to bring it for 48 minutes. No sloppy defense and no poor shot selection.
Go Spurs!!

VEGAS: O/U 199.5, Spurs -10.5
There's little that can be seen as a reprieve for the ever-slipping Spurs, but if anything counts as a gimme game, it's a home tilt against the league's worst team and owners of its longest current losing streak (13). Beset by sideline turmoil and bad health (Conley's out for the years and Evans and Chalmers are scratches tonight, though Gasol and Parsons are available), Memphis is a free-faller, but the way the good guys have looked, not even this one is 100% locked. Aldridge and Gino are unknowns for tonight, so the skeleton screw may need to play above-par.

Sorry, gang; Nolan and I created separate game-threads within a minute of each other (how's that for being on the same wavelength?), so I merged mine into his. Sorry about that, Nolan! Go Spurs!

Re: GT: Grizzlies (18-44) vs. Spurs (36-27)
Hate to say it but this game is as much of a "must win" game as we have had this season. With potentially 3 straight losses coming up next, we NEED this game. We could potentially have 30 losses after the next 4 games and that will put us tied for 9th in the conference with Utah.
Outside looking in is not something I'm used to as a Spurs fan....
Also, Aldridge is playing tonight so that tells you the team thinks this game is important too

^ Yep, with Marc and pinup guy returning, we need as many players as possible to get as big a lead and keep it. It's a testament to how serious and important this game is to us that LMA is playing. And it's a testament to his strength that he's gutting it out despite not being 100%.
I feel a bit sick to my stomach, and it won't subside until we have a win tonight. We can't take any team lightly, particularly one that, after 13 consecutive losses, has a wounded animal danger to it. We used to have trouble with the middle two quarters, then we had issues with slow starts for a string of games, and now we've got to put a stop to reeling in the last quarter. The reasons are what they are, but we have to stay focused and intense, protect the ball, score, and keep our wits about us late, playing our game on both ends for 48 minutes.
GO SPURS GO!

Re: GT: Grizzlies (18-44) vs. Spurs (36-27)
Holy hell, more late game brain cramps with two turnovers, but we actually had enough points to get away with their making their last shot, which we bizarrely contested. If it weren't for Tony going vintage mode, and us getting to the line and hitting enough FTs, and no offense to Memphis fans, us playing the Grizz... but better to be at the winning end of it after all.
We looked scared to make mistakes, and tense when we did, but we strung together just enough good plays on O - thank you, Tony!
- and made some much needed stops on D and got timely steals - thank you, Kyle and Danny!
- to tip the scales in our favour.
Ugly, but there's no points for style. We showed some fight to keep persevering through the rough spots, and got what counts, a much needed win.
In such a close game, every play on both ends is magnified. We needed every stop, and every point. Lots to clean up, but better to be working on it after the buoy of the win. Ever onwards.
