MAKE OR MISS? Vote and discuss
Simple question-- do you want us to score a playoff seed or hit the lottery? Throw a vote in and share your reasons.

Re: MAKE OR MISS? Vote and discuss
Thats a loaded question actually.
If Kawhi is back and playing well and the rest of the team is healthy I would want to make the playoffs just to see what happens. Think of the irony that there is a small chance we are healthy and make the 7th seed and could play the Warriors in the first round who have been bitten by the injury bug lately. That could be very interesting.
If Kawhi is still out though, or if LMA's knee is bothering him then I see no benefit to making the playoffs other than to keep the playoff streak alive. It would be better in the long run to have a higher draft pick.

If Kawhi returns, even at 50%, YES. He would be a massive upgrade in the starting line-up since he can hit open shots on a regular basis...unlike Mills, Green, Kyle or whoever who are starting now. And obviously, our defense will be one of the best in the entire playoff with LMA/Kyle/Kawhi/Green/Dejounte.
Also our bench will be really deep with Gasol/Bertans/Gay/Ginobili/Parker.

When this account gets more "And1"s than posts written ...then my life will be complete. And maybe it will be the right time to hang it up. (Achieved on 2017-2018 season)...but still here.

Re: MAKE OR MISS? Vote and discuss
My sentiment seems to be pretty unpopular, but I'm down for missing and getting a pick. We aren't beating the Warriors in a series; we just aren't, and in my opinion, we aren't beating H-town 4-out-of-7, either. I like the idea of getting another young player to develop; I don't think we're going to clean up in the FA market in the next couple of years and I don't think we're going to move our bad contracts for anything more than lateral progress, so I see a high-level treadmill team as our ceiling for the next two years. It makes sense to bring in some young talent to develop over the next couple of seasons; if it goes right, that talent would be ready to do the heavy lifting right about the time when LMA's in his golden years and the rest of this big money comes off the payroll.

I understand what you're saying and I would like a higher pick but how would you explain this to Aldridge or Rudy Gay who came here to compete for championships? I think we only have 1 or 2 years of prime Aldridge left to compete and much less for Gay. Now this Kawhi thing is messing that up. If we could get Kawhi back playing and face maybe an injured Golden State in round one we could be dangerous. I'm agreeing that a healthy GSW or Houston we probably arent winning even with Kawhi this year but look where we are from just a couple of weeks ago. Boston and GSW are reeling, Cleveland is losing games again. The only real healthy team is Houston and they have Mr. Injury Waiting to Happen, Chris Paul.
If I'm the Spurs I just wait it out a couple more weeks and see if something else crazy happens.
