Someone needs to hard foul Durant or clay at the start of game 4 to start. Make these guys feel some pain and know that if they want points they are gonna have to earn it through the pain.

Patty Mills playing too much and us scoring in the 90's isn't beating an NBA team in 2018. Ive been saying this all year. it doesn't matter how well you play defense. We were actually holding our own and Mills single-handedly ruined it with a careless turnover, a miss and a foul in like 30 seconds. We went from being up 5 to down. Game over.
Kyle Anderson forgetting how to play basketball for some reason doesn't help either. He played soo well all season only to regress back to what he was before in these playoffs....

A valiant effort, at least for a lot of the game, at least on D (we actually outrebounded them 41-39, including 10-4 on O boards). At some point, we looked like the weight of needing to compete with the pressure of being down 0-2 with the weight of mourning and hearts likely being elsewhere at times was too much for us.
Even though we had a 50-40 points in the paint advantage, our shooting woes continued at home which is uncharacteristic for us. Shooting around 40% from the field and 7-33 (we average 25 attempts this post-season) for 21.2% from the 3 was... not optimal. It seemed like too often we resorted to the 3 hoping a comeback could be generated that way. Too few went in too infrequently. Had we shot even a decent percentage in the last two games, it would have made things interesting.
But there's no what-ifs, just what is, and so thoughts return to Pop even if he characteristically didn't want any public tributes so as to help the team focus on the task at hand. The more I read about all he had to deal with not just this year but throughout the years without a word of complaint, with a perspective about basketball's ups and downs and its proper place in life - a part of life, a job - and with gratitude for everyday things, the more I respect him and feel for him. Same goes for Erin Popovich, whose grace in the face of long-standing health issues while her kindness and strength resonated with others is deeply moving.
I know this is the game thread, but it's hard not to talk about impacts on it. In a way, this game was part of a larger context and process; give it your all, and stay together on and off the court. Now more than ever. I love our team.

Yeah there were several 4-6 point swings, be it by our good D not being rewarded on the O end followed by their bucket immediately after, or through turnovers (although they gave up 14 points off of TOs to our 13; still, when these happen can be key momentum shifters) that led to their points in transition, or through their getting consecutive O rebounds for multiple shot chances and subsequent buckets, each scenario like was playing with fire.
We have to score by committee, and the fact is too many combination of players miss too many shots. Everything is concentrated in the playoffs, so these bad shooting stretches are coming at a bad time.
Changing focus for a moment, Joff has been absent because he, too, lost a family member *sigh* Sending condolences and good thoughts to Joff and his loved ones:
