Some common threads are appearing with our two draft picks: both have humble roots, both have been taught the importance of education, both have a strong work ethic, both want to help their communities, and both have diverse games with big upsides.

Although the article below only mentions first round picks, I hope Chimezie will put us on the list of second round pick steals in time as well. I can't wait to see what they and our staff and team do together.

Six big winners from the NBA draft's first round

San Antonio Spurs

Selected guard Lonnie Walker IV with the No. 18 pick.
The Spurs have traditionally been one of the best-drafting teams in the NBA, and their selection Thursday night could be a major step in their retooling process....

Walker has significant upside stemming from his freakish athleticism, long wingspan, perimeter shooting prowess and defensive potential, which is why he was projected as a lottery pick for much of the season. He should be able to work on the deficiencies (inconsistent defense and rebounding, shaky on-court decision-making) that caused him to slip somewhat on draft night, joining one of the NBA's best player development staffs.
