At what point does a play become a 'lifer', -deserving of loyalty contracts or never getting traded, input sought on the direction of the team?
Is it accolades, championships, falling in line, mvp, taking discounts to add player, 5yrs, 10yrs on the team? something else?

Re: Spurs Lifers
character man or fit the spurs culture...if u dont misbehave on/off the court or do anything stupid, as long ur not up for trade talks...i think FO will look after you, especially when u show them loyalty by taking paycuts, they will reward you later down the track with loyalty contract too look after you if there is available money...
if they dont have the capspace to offer you market price, they wont stop you from leaving to find a bigger paydeal
if u were drafted but never sign, due to whatever reasons for example euro players, spurs have no problem paying for the medical surgeries if they dont have the cash
but all of this went down hill or dont mean squat when parker is still on the team after what he did off the court, yet they gave him a 3yr loyalty contract, he couldnt keep his mouth shut regarding kawhi, now we going to lose kawhi... opens up capspace, probably wants another loyalty contract...
