Walter, ranked No. 14 in ESPN's Top 100, has kept a pretty low profile during the pre-draft process, mostly conducting one-on-zero workouts in places such as Detroit, Charlotte, San Antonio, Utah and Sacramento.

He [Tyler Kolek] has worked out for teams picking as high as the mid-to-late lottery (San Antonio, Utah)

35. San Antonio Spurs
Juan Nunez, PG, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany) | Age: 20.0

48. San Antonio Spurs (via Lakers)
Cam Spencer, SG, UConn | Age: 24.1

ESPN mocks us with Nunez which I love but they have us taking FOUR guards which is crazy lazy spamming of our back court needs.

Hi Spurs folks. Wemby has my French side paying attention to your team...

I think that Spurs are in a great position with #4 and #8. I would take Topic or Sheppard and Saluan

Shep or Topic / Vassel / Salaun / Sochan / Wemby looks pretty good to me

I like Topic regardless of his injury status. I hope we stay far away from Sheppard. I would prefer if they are not going to draft Topic to grab Castle from Connecticut not Sheppard.

I like Salaun and he would be there at #8 but I think its a stretch to think we are going to just draft French players as much as I like them.

If we are moving up to get Risacher I'm for that as well as long as we stay away from the Kentucky guards.

Castle might fall to #8 if we are lucky and we could get Topic and Castle if we are slightly concerned with Topic's knee. We can then get a wing in FA, trade or in the 2nd round.

I've read that the Hawks were trying to meet with Sarr but somehow they havent been able to. Not sure what the reason is.

Been hard at work over the past few days and haven't posted but I can say with absolute certainty that 95% of the rumors concerning the Spurs are based on ZERO knowledge at all. I know we all have our ideas and thoughts but none of us present our ideas with any air of us knowing what the spurs are doing. The problem with the rumors is that these people are paid to generate traffic and so come up with what they think would generate picks.

For example, just look at the CBS mock draft. These people have no idea of what the Spurs are planning to do but simply plug their favorites into slots.

Well we haven't either and the reason could be the same - reportedly Sarr's group wants him to go to a spot where he could be the #1 option. That's already established in ATL and SA. Houston, too. Seems to fit the whispers, then.

Taking Castle all the way at #1 ?????? And they haven't moved Murray or Young. I can understand if the Hawks want to move one or both of them, but taking him at #1 is a waste of assets IMO when you can get him much further down the draft. Just rumors obviously but if thats their plan there must be a trade involved to move down.

Also, that will be a crap ton of pressure on Castle if he goes #1 to a team that is about to blow it up. I'm not going to do Hawks Draft review here but those are some massive shoes to fill.

If there's any truth to what his camp said. It looks like they want him going where he can start.

He's supposedly only worked out for Washington.

Concerning the Hawks, OO is young & ready to start. Their interest in Clingan has a lot to do with how soon he can produce vs potential.

Edit - Didn't see Grey response, beat me to it.

The way the rumors are flowing on the Hawks board. It looks like an attempt to trade down for Clingan & a wing prospect with upside ... #1 Risarcher for 4 & 8.

What I want to know is how is Sarr's stock dropping when he's only worked out for Washington?

Well I know nothing first hand but all the rumors seem to make him look like a diva making ridiculous demands right off the bat.
Unless he has some master plan to offend everyone so he drops to a certain team.

In his interview he said he was competitive & wanted to go #1. I think it's more his management/camp than him but I guess it's a package deal.

His camp seems to want him starting. OF the top 8 picks only one team he can viably start for, he had a workout with, Washington. Contenders might think him to raw to start.. including Memphis at 9 looking for a bounce back year from Ja's injury.

Hawks 1 OO, Capela
Houston 3 Sengun/Smith,
Spurs (4 & 8) Wemby/Sochan
Detroit 5 Duren
Charlotte 6 Mark Williams
Portland 7 Ayton

Return to San Antonio Spurs
