Would be a nice vet piece to add to the team. Get the #1 overall pick and the Spurs could be a contender overnight.

Hey well his two-way game and experience are big pluses, but his age, contract, and health are big minuses.

He'll be 34 at the start of next season when he has a PO for $48M. And he has not played more than 57 games in the last 5 years.

Tough factors, all the more so considering he wouldn't be growing with us for long.

True.

Wemby is so good I could legit see them adding a veteran all-star caliber player and become a legit contender overnight.

I imagine if you traded for a star it would probably cost your lottery pick correct?

I mean it's all about leverage. There are whispers about Trae becoming available and wanting to be. We have a ton of picks but don't have to give the asking price, just outbid the other team(s).

We for sure have to upgrade the 1 and especially the 3 so your thinking at that position is on point with respect to talent level.

We have a lot of options and flexibility to go in several directions. Just depends on the opportunities that present themselves/we seek out.

Trae would be a awesome fit. People forget he has already led a team to the conference Finals. He's never had a teammate like Wemby. I think that kind of move puts San Antonio in that contender status depending how they fill out the roster.

I also need to apologize because I said earlier in the season Wemby would be a project. Boy was I wrong!

Thrilled for Derrick and for Celtics to have more championships than LAL, and for their solid fans.

All that said,

Dejounte Murray traded to the Pels for Nance, Daniels and picks.

Our Hawks picks just got even more valuable. I wonder if there's something else in the works.

I think Young is staying there to be honest. I don't see any better situation for him and I don't think any teams want to pay what the Hawks would want in return. (well, unless the Lakers demand they want Young and the league forces them to do it)

It's still puzzling to me that the Hawks brass thought the Young/Murray thing would work. We made out like bandits in that trade. I think the Pels did well here, too.

Dyson Daniels has intriguing defensive upside, but isn't really a prospect that moves the needle in a package like this. Murray is on a pretty good team friendly contract for a player with his qualities. In a vacuum, this package doesn't make a lot of sense to me for the Hawks.

I think they got bamboozeled by Murray. Atlanta thought they were getting a smart, high BBIQ Spursey-type team player who was a lock down defensive specialist.

Instead they got an undisciplined trash talking shot chucker who played nothing like a PG and was about as bad defensively as Trey Young.

Soooo Minny making moves with sending KAT to Knicks to have flexibility in building around Ant.

This thread may be a focus on the handful of teams whose picks we own.

Anyway, something to monitor... for the next few years lol starting now.

Only thing is he's looking for a team that will give him the max he's eligible for (not deserving of) that his current team didn't offer. A wrinkle to consider.

p.s. Also, does he care to defend in any worthwhile capacity?

Pelicans fire sale! I wonder if we can acquire players from there. Dejounte, Ingram, Zion, etc.

On their team, Herb Jones would be a great get but of course it depends on the cost.

Rumours have us kicking tires at Ingram but he just signed with Klutch, is injured, and wants the max. Not sure he fits our timeline either, though I'm not against acquiring more seasoned talent. Does he defend? I honestly don't know. Is he coachable?

DJ and his Klutch cohorts can kick rocks.

Zion is NYC bound come hell or butter chicken. His utter lack of discipline to be a healthy pro is antithetical to what we are all about.

Each of the above is more trouble than his game is worth.
