*ahem*

Damn.

Tim Duncan with the offensive explosion, and the THREE BALL, to put Phoenix away. I am seriously impressed. I mean, the Suns were looking to put the pressure on him and everything with Shaq but jeez, what a game...

This is one of those times where I remind myself that it was smart to list Duncan as a top-10 player the last few times I've been asked... :D

congrats guys

no matter when we were up i never thought we had it in the bag, you guys pulled some stuff out of the bag of tricks, but thats what you have to do in these games, we hit some big shots too in the end, not having a time out may have robbed us of another overtime and more fun? who knows

great game, you deserved the well fought win, good luck in the next one.

My prediction was suns in 6, ill still stick with it (i was hoping for 1 of 2 on the road) and whilst im far less confident in my prediction now, i wont change it just yet

looks like barry might become an xfactor in this series

Heh, yeah...but I'll forgive him for it this once. He's got some big shots left in him for this series though, that's for sure.

(The preface..a 39 year Suns fan)
I'm mildly wowed by the game today. I have the Spurs winning in 5 even before today. I was positive SA would come out like they did against Utah in game 82 and deliver the goods...they looked icky to me. Not that they would blow out the Suns, but clearly establish the upper hand. But for 9/10th of the game PHX seemed to be controlling the situation...I was actually starting to think "hey! maybe the Suns have finally pulled it together..found championship commitment. Sure shootin' the Spurs took advantage and played like champions in the closing minutes of reg and OT, while the Suns somehow made absolutely sure they didn't hit a clutch shot or make a big stop.

I picked you guys to repeat ...seems you got at least one "stinker" out of the way. If you get to play the Celtics, Im sure it'll be extre fun.

I created a video for and about the Suns (and our 40 year woes)...fun stuff from the crazy '76 tussle with the Celtics is contained ... http://www.chrisvalentines.com/movies/its_time.wmv

more wacky Suns/Spurs games to come in the next 10 days or so I'm sure

best

I was fading away in the 1st half, early third qtr, lol

Most especially about Diaw and how he was playing early, seemed like he was playing better than he actually did... let's not play like that too much Diaw :)

^^ The Spurs pulled off a hard comeback against the Suns in the late third and throughout the fourth quarter. Fin, TD, and Manu came through when it counted the most. When TD hit that three ball, I nearly flew out of my seat. That was a great shot by TD to go along with his 40pts. Like you said in your post TD, "Manu was not going to be denied" He cut to the basket and scored the winning shot in today's thriller. Good win Spurs!

Yeah was an incredible win...credit where it's due, your vets made the plays and ours didn't...

Duncan showed why he's the best PF of ALL TIME today, dominated a younger, faster Amare, and a bigger, stronger Shaq...

Game 2 will need to be epic to follow todays bonanza

When I saw Ginobili swing the ball back outside, I then realized that it was Duncan standing at the 3 point line, immediately I said "what the F*$# is Ginobili THINKING?!!!!" Then I see Duncan take that 3 and I felt the game was over, no freaking way Duncan makes a 3 with the game on the line! To my wonderful surprise he made it......something Epic.

I wasn't even sure if Manu knew that it was Tim he was kicking it out to. It worked though, so who's to say it wasn't intentional? ;)

It wouldn't have bothered me to see that three fall short, but I was glad to see Duncan show some emotion after he nailed the shot. You don't, or at least I don't, usually see him display that much emotion. It was a bit of a different look for him (IMO), and I liked it.

I think the play was drawn up to go to Duncan myself. It almost reminded me of a play that the Nuggets run with Camby a couple of times a year. Didn't we run it against you guys this year? I am thinking we did.

Anyhow, that was one fun game to watch and it will be a very tough game to top in terms of excitement level. People that say the Spurs are a boring team to watch, just got their theory blown to smitherines.
