There are some things we're doing well like making extra passes, playing to our strengths. We have 7 assists, Malaki is driving and shooting well, Keldon scoring efficiently and with touch and physicality.

We're not hitting the 3s well, only 1-5, and getting throttled on the boards, 15-6.

It's also a grind at the FT line where we are 5-6 to their 11-11 already.

Protect the rim better, keep moving the ball, finish strong.

We do tend to pick up our dribble early when we wait for team mates to come around to move to the right place. Sort of telegraphs everything.

Malak and Collins then went into a simple, quick pure, two man game that opened a middy J for Malaki. Simple, pretty, effective basketball.

Diop's a weird player to gauge. He has all the tools, and teases when he puts them together, but more often than not he's not the sum of his parts. Too often he doesn't have enough of them working together or one of them working against him.

2ND Q: SPURS 63 MAVE 74

HEY! We poured in 37 points this Q with much better 5-8 from 3, 7 more boards with 2 on O, 15 assists by the half and only 5 TOs. So far so good.

But we allowed 40 points, are getting outrebounded 21-13, and even though we have only two fewer made 3s, the foul line is killing us right now: only 7-8 for us versus a whopping 18-20 for them. Wow. And there's the 11-point difference right now.

Our bench has yet to get to the FT line and only three Spurs have done so. We need that to be better.

We're getting good efficiency and variety of shots, but are bleeding points. We have to find ways to get stops.

I really like how Keldon is Mr. Fundamentals with quick outlet passes, drive and kicks outs, using screens for mid-range shots, faking shots and passing down low. REALLY nice recognition of team mates in better positions to score, drawing defenders in, and getting other Spurs the open shots. ESPN is ass with registering only one basket for KJ so it's not clear what he has scorewise, but he's been very effective balancing his own shot and distributing for others.

Malaki's a bucket. WOW. His fluidity, speed and changes, hesitations, and pure shot from just about anywhere are impressive. He's growing into a dangerous scorer. Plus it looks like he has 4 assists at the half already.

Collins leads us with 7 boards. nice.

We have to respond more quickly defensively, box out and rebound better, and get more physical on both ends.

it was good to get a break actually. Got some rest and some things done but slowed down a lot from some meds. This game feels so fasssssst!
