2ND Q: SPURS 59 KINGS 71

When you lose the Q 41-28 and it looks respectable...

We were down 20 looking lost before we suddenly remembered how to play like a team and put a run together, turning the ugly 71 against to a respectable and within striking distance deficit of 12.

Devin is really looking like he reached a raised floor comfort level with scoring inside and out versus multiple top teams and defenders. He leads us with14 on 4-8, 2-3 from 3, 4-4FTs. He also has 1 board, 5 assists, and 1 steal. Our best player tonight.

Branham is coring efficiently but there's a reason he's a woeful -14 in 11 minutes. Sticky fingers on O and 'What me D? Heck no see I have to save my energy for 3s' D intensity is not going to cut it.

We have 8TOs but this is on 7 steals against. Our O looks amazing versus crappy D teams but we certainly struggle versus tight, disciplined D pressure.

Collins and Keldon playing well.

We do have good cynergy with Colins form all those reps going back to last year. He moves more like a traditional C and we can execute more expected plays with and through him.

Sochan gets stubborn tunnel vision at times. He's getting a case of the over-dribble-itis and taking 3s when he should he driving. Too slow getting back on D but when he gets there, good switching and coverage.

We have 10 fewer FGAs. We have to get more physical, generate more energy from movement and communication and commitment.

Sabonis is a huge load so that is not a knock on Collins, but he plays too vertical and not forward enough versus a lot of opposing Cs. He doesn't have that automatic touch finish even if the spin move in the paint is solid base footwork.

Collins was open before. It's fine that he shot it.

And Collins worked to seal his man inside. A struggling Sochan airball was not the better play there.
