Yeah, I definitely shouldn't get too far ahead of myself...I still think we have a great chance at repeating even without making this move, but it would put us right back as the clear-cut favorites if it happens.

potential for next year..

PG Parker
SG Ginobili(just for the look on paper)
SF Artest
PF Splitter
C Duncan

that is one of the most disgusting lineups I could ever imagine..

can y'all imagine guarding Kobe with Artest, and then when he gets tired Bowen, and when he gets tired we put in Udoka..

Allen and Pierce covered by Bowen and Artest..

this would be huge..

I already typed up the post I'd make if the move does happen, So I'm not too excited when typing becuase I just want to enjoy the news. Since it does seem to be a legitimate situation going on.

I don't agree with this, really.

Watching Ron on a regular basis for awhile now (since 2004), these two things are exaggerated a lot. Especially the baggage part. Because since joining the Kings he's been a decent guy, outside of the incident with his wife (no doubt bad). Where that has already been patched up. So overall, this baggage the majority of people talk about has been way overblown.

Also, his passing efforts and ability are one of the most underrated and overlooked parts of his game. He's pretty consistent there, too. And sure he takes questionable shots sometimes, but they are in a small amount when he does take those.

On this team especially, his offensive role would be lessened and would fit in fine, with the situation.

Kings would be willing to give up at least one of the picks and possibly both of them if it was Kenny Thomas attached to Artest instead of Moore.

Moore? Not sure what the deal is on the table? Can you explain more?

1. doesn't work financially and filling the last 2 mil will have to be a sign & trade like KVH and Mckie

2. basically screws up the spurs in terms of having a backup center... unless somehow spurs can get kurt thomas from seattle in a 3 way deal... but unlikely.

I tried something that I posted on trade board...

The problem is SA doesn't get a very good center... but maybe they can work something out to get kurt from seattle... but they lose both backup centers... that might kill the deal... as well as orlando having to take up a bad contract in kenny thomas.

As a Kings fan I like the genral trade idea if you are taking Kenny, if not then Kings get ripped off. I think you all have around 15 million in expirings, and Ron and Kenny together are right around there as well. Please take Kenny and his contract off our hands. Otherwise I see no reason for the Kings to do this. A late first is useless and Ron is an expiring himself (if he opts out). So there has to be some other motive like you guys taking on Kenny or us getting Splitter.

Thomas sucks... he is useless and has a monster contract. I would hate for our team to even consider trading for him along with Artest. I don't care for the Kings thinking they would get ripped off.. Artest is going to be a free agent so we have no incentive to take on that bucket of suck or give up a prospect like Splitter.

I doubt san antonio will give up horry... he's big shot bob... not vital for the season, but he's a big ticket in getting through the playoffs...

Horry on the Kings would just be too strange...even stranger than when he came to us!

Again...Horry's not going anywhere. I also doubt Kenny would come with Ron to the Spurs.

I still am unsure this happens, there seems to be something there from the web reports. But overall I'm still leaning to Ron not being dealt at all.

The stuff with Denver isn't serious enough and has conflicts to be more than just talks.

If Artest is traded to the Spurs, I will definately root for you guys in the playoffs! I want Ron to get a ring. He's an absolutely BEAST and putting aside past troubles, he ALWAYS brings it on the court. Did any of you see him abuse Brandon Roy last night? Even when the Blazers double teamed Artest, he was able to post up, drive, and score. It was amazing to watch....

In other words, I would miss Artest....but not so much if you take KT with him :D

Horry could be waived and then resign with the Spurs (a la what Dallas was going to do with Stackhouse in the failed version of the J. Kidd trade) He resigns for the minimum in 30 days and is back with San Antonio in time for the playoffs.

Doubt that the Spurs would do that, since we're basically using the time between now and the playoffs to get Horry ready. That 30 day layoff would be a huge setback, especially considering that he finally started showing signs of life on the rodeo road trip.

The Spurs may be nearing a deal for Artest, although it's also believed Denver may finally be willing to give up Linas Kleiza. Of course, my flight from Portland to Sacramento is at this very moment, so we'll see where things stand when I land.

I'm inclined to agree with Ballings in thinking that Ron won't be moved...I'd still love to be proved wrong though (only not to Denver!!!).

Who cares if you don't care if the Kings get ripped off. I think you missed the point. The point is why would the Kings trade Artest unless they are unloading Kenny or getting a prospect like Splitter That's the point. I don't care if you like that idea or not I am just pointing out the fact that there has to be an incentive for the Kings to make the trade, especially if Denver is now willing to give us a 1st Kleiza and expirings. Petrie might of just been playing San Antonio to put pressure on Denver to give up Kleiza.

Well, looks like something may be going on...

But I don't pay for the insider forum, but I know a few of you do. Check it out!

I don't have access to the inside forum, either, but some people do around here.

Something with Denver or San Antonio... or maybe Houston (but that was just a blurb, and has gotten less talk, which may or may not matter).
