Well, good luck to the Spurs in this series. Hopefully it's a little bit cleaner between the players and less ridiculous with the refs this time around but as usual, I expect a good series.
Personally, I'm rooting for the Suns because I want to see Shaq win a 5th ring but here's to good health and entertaining play for and from both teams. It's always a pleasure to watch San Antonio in action.

I expect a great series as well. This is definatley the first round matchup to watch! (even though I will be watching every game, every series). I am nervous about the Spurs chances since we have only won 1 game vs PHX this year. In order for the Spurs to win, they will need the big 3 to put up big numbers, they will need a huge lift from the bench and they cannot let Amare and Shaq have their way in the post. I really want the Spurs to win, but I think Phenoix will win in 7.
Thanks 'Magz50'

Do Spurs fans on this board perceive that the gap has gotten bigger or smaller between these teams?
I think it was fairly obvious that the Spurs had their hands full last year. It seems to me that the Suns are more capable of handling Duncan one on one. Two of the Spurs roleplayers are out or playing below average. Manu is coming back from a very minor injury, but one that does have knack for being lingering.
A lot of questions are out there about each team.. Will Diaw be as aggresive as he has been since Shaq arrived.. Will Barry step it up and start hitting from the outside.. Will Bowen be able to finally injure Amare by simply stabbing him in the back..
these are the questions that will decide the series.
Good luck, and F*CK Tim Duncan.

hahaha Gold...
Essentially Parker and Amare will score 30 each, Manu and Nash will get there 20-25, Duncan will have his 30...hopefully Shaq/Diaw can limit TD to 25 and 12, any more than that and I'd imagine the Suns will be in trouble. The thing that gets to me when playing you guys - not a knock against you - is the old men Finley, Barry and Bowen...they ALWAYS seem to be open in the corners for 3, which is OUR defensive rotation/lack thereof...could be the determining factor in the series...
I'm preparing to rip chunks of hair out as Manu will make Barbosa his whipping boy as per usual
Good luck........but not too much

Quick 5 min analysis...
Suns think they are better... great. They really addressed their needs with rebounding. I think we are a much different team in the playoffs than what they have played in the regular season. Hell, if the Suns think that we are the same team*... better for us.
We still pose some of the same problems for them. We can get them into foul trouble and they aren't as deep as you would expect a championship team to be. Honestly, Amare is a stupid player who gets silly fouls constantly. We have to use the pick and roll to just frustrate them. They* never get any real tangible production from Diaw and Barbosa when they face us. The Spurs are ok with letting one player get their points it if kills their flow. I could really care less if Amare gets 40 points. It is a bigger concern that we allow 5 or 6 people with double digit points. Let also point out that there is a pretty good chance that their coaching will leave alot to be desired during a 7 game series.
What are the problems they give us? Well at the end of the day we go thru dry spells. It has happened to us before and it wouldn't surprise me if we have a 13 or 14 point qtr within us during the series that puts us in a bad position. We also have the sudden rebounding problem. They aren't midgets anymore who give up boards.
Anyways more analysis following the first game....

With all due respect to the other playoff teams, the teams that worry me the most, in order are: Celtics, Suns, Pistons, Lakers
If you see me say anything different around here, it's to irritate some of your co-fans.

I'm actually pretty confident going into this series for one reason. The Suns superstar frontcourt simply cannot avoid foul trouble. While being an unstoppable force on offense and a freak of nature athletically, Amare Stoudamire is as dumb as a bag of rocks. Shaq is also incredibly foul prone. This issue only gets worse for Phoenix with the return of Ginobili and Parker's excellent form.
I really hope Pop keeps Oberto away from guarding Shaq. While Amare isn't a good matchup for Oberto either at least he wont be physically ploughed out of the way.

I watched that preview and have learnt that there is an internet site named. www.SunsDynasty.com
It must be a late April fool i think:) Suns and dynasty words shouldn't be spelled next of each others
By the way let's see the critics after Spurs series.
