Wemby 20 points in 19 minutes and you can see he's still got a lot to figure out which is ridiculous. He's also two years younger than Chet. Wemby's D positioning, sort of floating around, will need work but his recovery and actual perimeter disruption even after the driver gets past him is a marvel; just swatting at the ball got a steal (others like Blake and Malaki did this well, too).
Wemby creates so many options for himself and others it's a spoiled-for-choice issue. We will learn to make the most of it.
We have to pass the ball HIGHER to Wemby when he gets post positioning. There were a couple of steals against from us passing to his chest.
Like what I saw from Bediako and Rice. Malaki and Blake, too. Sidy has really nice court vision. Unselfish almost to a fault.
Dom looked a bit out of sorts. He's gotten stronger and he's still fearless but there's also more challenges for his spot. We like him but other guys are starting to stand out more with their bread and butter skills.
Really liked that our D looked more cohesive and assertive. Pop was in mid-season form with a couple of quick timeouts when we let in a couple of 3s in a row. Ripped into us for poor effort getting down the floor and weak contests. Good. Sets the standard for the year.
Can't wait to see what the full team looks like after a month to month and a half of reps onward together.
