3RD Q: SPURS 87 HEAT 72
Another explosive finish to the Q. Love this focus of energy.
Champie rattles it out to end the Q.
But we pushed hard on both ends to gets stops and out transition them, running away with the lead.
Lots of second and loose ball effort, lots of downhill effort, lots of extra passes (except for Champie on the the last play who had two option in the corners ahead of him... Alas...).
We found Wemby at the rim well.
We drove down the heart of their key well.
We deflected their efforts well.
We shared well.
KEEP FOOT ON GAS.
NO QUARTER.

What the HELL, Beadle?!
Asks for Sean to say more Italian names, and **** Fontecchio falls like an Italian footballer acting like he was shot when a defender gets near him. Foul called damn it.

Hmm 15 point lead down to 7 on an 8-0 run against.
Didn't expect them to lie down. Now about how we respond.
Play clean tough two way Spurs ball.

4TH Q: SPURS 107 HEAT 101
5-0 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE HISTORY!!!!!!!
LET'S **** GO!
Special. More to come...
...ok PHEW and WOW!
Used to be we'd pencil in 'scheduled losses'. Used to be we'd fold when a come from behind team gained momentum. Resilience, two way team play, clutch plays, and guys stepping up were the Hallmarks tonight.
Once again, Wemby's staggering performance snuck up on me - I did not expect to see 27 18 6 1 5 (blocks) but here we are. May we never take this for granted as a new moment. Great court vision finding teammates; great sense of the moment for a key block and clutch bucket; great patience and shot selection and biding his time not doing too much so as to both stay in the game and have energy left for the end of it; played a game high 40 minutes which may be a non-overtime record. I'm astonished and thrilled at the leap he has made this season.
Wemby's gravity allowed others to flourish. Castle was clutch and absolutely all over the place contributing on the both ends. Did much better within the team concept. Led the game with 4 steals. Made clutch 3s, getting his legs under him for power and balance. He put in all that work in the summer, may as well see how it works under pressure. Was next in scoring with 21 on very good efficiency. In addition to leading us with steals, Steph led us with 8 assists as well. Excellent adjustment from last game. 21 6 8 4 1.
Dev is a flow guy but he rushed some shots. He front rims misses, so getting a step closer and getting more legs under will hopefully help. What a difference a healthy summer and not being the main/ sole secondary scorer. Runs off ball well, defends well, get to his spots well, fights through screens well. 17 9 1 1. Very valuable in our team concept.
Barnes worked his way to 10 points but Champie had another inefficient night. Good steal staying the game, did well to say with his man there.
We have to eventually do something about 3-4 positions long-term.
Five games in and Dylan already is moving up the indispensable ladder. He made multiple drives right down the middle. Led the bench again with 13 4 2 in 25 minutes.
Keldon filled in the 7th man chipping in 11 on 4-7, tying Wemby and Champie for team high 2 O boards. All heart and smart effort.
Mitch was a demon essentially running a 7 man unit with McL filling in 11 minutes and scoring 6 while Bis filled out 7 minutes for Wemby. We don't play again till Sunday so he made sure we played to win with these tight rotations.
Loved our grit and team play, sharing the ball and stepping up. We had 26 assists, 10 steals, 8 blocks to only 11 TOs while winning the board battle 48-41, 9-5 on O boards.
Fun all around team win, super competitive, finding ways to win, not using excuses of missing players.
Times were once we'd fold under the pressure but pushing through despite front court challenges. Here's hoping we get reinforcements back once we're ready to resume play.
In the meantime, we deserve to enjoy knowing we set a new record, a 5-0 start for the first time in franchise history. And we're just getting to know each other while waiting for the full complement of players to be available. Ultimate hold the fort win. Team win.
