Surprise off O game by Wemby. Telegraphed the ball and got blocked. Can't be swooping up the ball on tight space vs. bigs.

We got schooled by their O execution.
Wemby got pulled to the perimeter, the hot a big down low for the dunk.

Just falling apart here.
We have to show signs of life when Wemby has an off O night. Damn.

4TH Q: SPURS 115 GRIZZLIES 129
We got spanked.
First half upturned and we lost the second 78-52.
We shot 11-25 from 3 first half and 5-18 in the second.
We got 18FTAs first half, 9FTAs in the second.
We finished with only 22 assists after a promising 14 in the first half.
We got obliterated on the boards 52-44 and doubled 14-7 on O boards.
Dev and Castle struggled to score in the first half but came through well in the second with Castle a career high 26 and Dev 21 right behind him. Both drove far more in the second half, especially Dev. Castle did it both halves.
Castle led us with 21FGAs which is fine for a hot hand but the 9 of them were from the arc (made only 2) plays into opponent's hand. Right set ups but for the wrong player.
But he also led us with 6-7FTs and Dev made 4-7FTs.
Wemby led us with 37 minutes and frankly this is too much of a load for him. He is playing too many minutes night in night out, and there is not enough support behind him both in terms of back up C work and too short rotations. Nine-man rotation is too short especially with healthy bodies who can shoot 3s watching the game. Again.
Wemby had a near triple double with 13-12-8 blocks but all of these came in the first half. Didn't like his shot selection and timing with the ball. He exposed it to willing defender arms and rushed shots. He was also corralled quickly and we have to do a better job getting to spaces where he can better pass out the ball.
No idea why we went away from our passing game in the second half and settled for one and done or one pass and shot or ISO but once again we learned the hard way that it's a 48-minute game, a game of counter punches, a game of hustle and effort
And a game of executing strategy. They used an 11-man rotation to better fuller effect. And so our bench got outscored 57-37. Lots of potential points were watching the game start to finish. Keldon was terrific, stood out with deft physical drives and pretty touch finishes. Underrated. Julian made his 3s. Bassey and Tre were more afterthoughts on O. This put too much pressure only SEVEN players to do O damage. Bad strategy, especially when Wemby's O is off.
We did a good job scoring around Wemby when his O wasn't there, but stopped playing our team game, didn't set up right players in right spots, took early clock ill advised contested shots rather than moving and making extra passes, and under utilized all our strengths, again too many sitting on the bench, neutered by DNPs.
Just better shot set ups, rotations, and using more strengths in better areas. And remembering it's a 48-minute effort required. Otherwise, we get the results of the effort we put in.

Im feeling CP3's frustrations with this team. He throws those up because others arent doing what they are supposed to do.
