Interesting to note that Joe Wieskamp, Doug McDermott, and now Zach Collins are all represented by Priority Sports. Good relationships matter.

So both LA teams, Knicks, Mavs likely off the table. As the dust settles, things get more interesting:

Without Derozan, we are looking like a 15 win team.
Hopefully there's some deals coming.

I'm glad DeRozan is gone but I agree on the 15 wins

Thank you, Rudy! A consummate pro and great vet. Best of luck in Utah!

This hurts so much. My favourite vet Spur! What a punch to the heart:
All the best to you, Bala!

Finally the Spurs moved on. He could never be the best player here and win, but good luck to him in Chicago. Wish we got a nice prospect in return, but it is what it is.

Demars departure was inevitable. However i am personally a bit disapointed with what we have gotten in return. Aminu and Young are both on expiring contracts. Think at best we could get a second rounder for Aminu (clearly he doesn‘t help us). Thad Young is nice to have. I think we will keep him. Nevertheless i was hoping for a young prospect (either Lauri or White) to be included in this Deal.

Re: 2021 SPURS OFF-SEASON ROSTER NEWS - CHANGES, RUMOURS, TRADES, SIGNINGS
It's a fair point about assets, but a few things to keep in mind:
We didn't like the offers for LMA/DD at trade deadlines, likely they included contracts we didn't want to be saddled with
We got THREE picks for a UFA, plus Thad who is an experienced PF, clearly a position of need; Aminu I guess we could flip, not sure right now how he fits beyond financial match filler
Both of them are EXPIRING contracts which means still lots of cap room for next off season as well, this when the young guys will have shown who we keep or not, what positions to add to, and flexibility for contract extensions
Brian Wright said we're looking for versatile two-way talent. Lauri is a terrific O talent, but perhaps we weren't comfortable with the S&T commitment for either the money or duration and /or comfort level for a defensive liability. Perhaps we weren't comfortable with whomever we'd have to give up in the trade to boot.
I don't mind Cobi or whoever not coming over. We're fine at G. That 2025 1st round pick is more valuable
You can clearly see that given the three-year contracts to FAs and expirings there is a long-term plan in place going forward
The vets we had along the way shepherded th young guys who were very green. Now they've had th teaching and the experience and it's their turn to show what they can do and PATFO has the flexibility to add to it.
This is excellent asset management, roster building, cap management, and because of relationships built, we got what we wanted short and long term rather than nothing
These are solid positives going forward.
