Let other teams overpay for him.
How many times does it have to be proven when he is added to a somewhat good team that it totally blows up in his face? Usually because of him.
I wouldn't mind giving it a shot here because there isn't many other options available but its too damn expensive for a 36 year old dude who never won anything on his own and isnt a leader.
He totally blew up Brooklyn's chemistry and did the same in Phoenix. He does that here and Wemby is off to another team.
Maybe if Pop was still healthy and coaching he could get him to fall in line but he will walk all over Mitch Johnson and this coaching staff. No thanks.
The one weird thing in Nets was Irving or KD implying they didn't need coaching. Nash was DOA.
Still the Nets situation went belly up due to Irving going full Irving. Injuries and fit. They were a KD too big a shoe size toe on the line from success.
Phoenix sacrificed depth for a collection of stars, and it was the Beal deal that sunk them. I didn't like KD slapping Budz's hand away but he was respectful of Pop during the Olympics.
It brings us to your point about Pop. Recently Haslem was praising Heat culture and Spo experience and frankly us no longer being able to point to GOAT Pop as a force of gravity hurts. No question Mitch has a disadvantage there, but CP3 praised him for holding the locker room together through difficult times. We still have The Spurs Way in place carrying over, we still have Pop who can summon a player and have a chat.
KD is still gives you 27/7/4.4 for his career and Suns were in the positive with him on the floor than off.
I still hope we get him as he is Wemby's favourite player and he wouldn't have to be the top 1 or 2 option, though could still step up to it when necessary.
It's the shortness of his contract as well as his game that intrigue.
Agree about not overpaying.
