Dice

Post#1 » by SApuro_ » Sat Apr 24, 2010 4:50 am

I know we all are talking about Manu being a warrior. TD playing amazing. TP coming back with energy and playing aggressive. Hill looking healthy out there and playing great on both ends but what about DICE.

He seems to be doing all the dirty work and playing great defense. He looks like a completely different player that was giving up goose eggs during the regular season.

That's what the Piston Fans told us. He would be a different player by the end of the season/postseason.

Thank God they are right.

Well he deceided to show up at the right time. He's been playing great lately, he's been playing like the player we seen play for the Pistons 2 or 3 years ago.

Guys, I wanted to wait until the end of the series but I'm gonna say it - McDyess is the unsung hero of this series so far. His defense is excellent, he's blocked some shots while staying out of foul trouble, and he's hit virtually all mid-range jumpers he's been given, and many of them have been on broken plays, too far out (almost out of his range) - he's been fantastic. We know Manu's been unstoppable and I didn't even realize his nose was broken during last night's game and I know he will play in game 4, broken nose or not, and Tony's been an impossible riddle for the Mavs like I expected, and Timmy's been well... Timmy. That win last night makes me confident we will take game 4. The Mavs threw everything at us and we just killed them. I know it was a 4-point game in the end but they were out of timeouts with a minute left and didn't stand a chance of coming back. GO SPURS GO!

Dice has been awesome... he allows for us to play big unlike last year where we had Finely as a four.

I'm glad small ball is gone.

Small ball for Pop now includes Blair, who is only small in terms of height, but actually as thick and strong as a dump truck.

Small Ball isn't gone. It's still there but there's less small ball than I expected. Carlisle seems to like having a Center guard Duncan. Basically that means Dallas have Dirk with either Dampier or Haywood, which means we'll have either Bonner or Dice at Center instead of playing Jefferson at PF with Duncan. I really expected Dallas to deploy a whole lot of Dirk-Marion-Butler-Terry-Kidd lineup but I don't believe I've seen that yet at all.

Pistons fan here:

We love him, still do. He will show up, it could take a while but this guy is an absolute warrior and will take care of the dirty work.

I miss him.

I didn't doubt Dice, he's another solid veteran role player who doesn't get after it consistently until the playoffs, and uses the season itself moreso, to get into good shape

I love seeing his active play

Interesting fact about McDyess that I just found out. He's really 6'10.5 with shoes. I have no idea why nba.com lists him as 6'9 and not 6'11. He's basically the same height as Sheed.

He's been great so far. We're seeing his true value in the playoffs, which is what the good vets do. No use playing well in the regular season only to disappear when he's needed most.

He's playing great D and hitting the long ball. Can't ask for much more than that.

I was excited when we picked him up in the offseason and his D has been great. He has been a big part in giving this team an identity again. There were weeks...months even when I thought this is not Spurs basketball. I am glad it all came together at the right time.

It came a bit later than usual, we're usually ramping up around the AS break. It was around mid-March where we started beating the good teams.

You could never count them out. This team is like a roach. It just keeps crawling back even when you think it's dead.

Knowing what we know now....would you rather have picked up Dice or Sheed?
