Possibly. His contract is up in europe and if we offer him enough I could see him a Spurs uniforn next year.

Yeah I think it all depends on the contract. No one knows how much the FO thinks Splitter is worth and how much Splitter himself think he's worth.

i think we should offer him 3-4m for an unproven player, even though we know lottery picks get paid around t hat much on their rookie contracts....but cmon he kept us hangin when we need him...
with him on the team, i guess mahinmi is the odd man out

Even without Splitter, there's no reason why we should be giving minutes to Mahinmi. We're not that bad...

A real disappointment but the dude was a late first rounder. That's how most of them end up.

Mahinmi IMO has already played his last game as a Spur if we bring Splitter over. If not, it depends on who we draft or if we are able to get a FA center or work a trade out. I saw several Splitter games for his European team and I was not excited but maybe I should be with his size and youth so I'm hoping we get him to come this summer.

We didn't exercise Ian's player option so he's gonna be a FA. It's just not gonna work for both sides. No reason why the Spurs bring back Ian. And for Ian, he'll probably be better off going to a more uptempo team where his athletic ability can be used more.

Now he´s the reigning MVP of the ACB League´s, putting up solid numbers like 23/10.
Guys like Rubio, Navarro was chasing this award.

I've never seen him play, just youtube clips of highlights. Whose game would you liken Spiltter's to in the NBA?

Honestly, I think a lot of guys here are overrating him a whole lot. I tried to do my research on him, reading his scouting reports and reading what guys say on the general board instead of the Spurs board and also through youtube clips (doesn't help).
To me, he's already 25. Sure you can get better, but usually players are what they are at age 25. You won't see that much of a difference compared to his prime years of 28 years old.
Offensively, he's not a face up guy. Got no shooting skills. He's a back to the basket offensive player, kinda physical, but don't mistake his low post game to be as advanced as Luis Scola. He's not that good. He's not overly athletic either and he's certainly not as tall as Brook Lopez. So don't confuse him to turn out to be some sort of Tim Duncan v2.0.
Defensively, he's a good rebounder. Not great, but not poor either. Can't expect him to go out and lead the league in rebounds but he should do average as a Center in that area. He's not a dominant shotblocker either. It's not like he's gonna go out and get 2-3 blocks a game but he will get 1. so in a way, he's average at that area too. As a defender, he's physical but again don't make him out as if he's gonna shut people down especially in his rookie year where foul trouble will be an issue.
All in all, I think his place in this league is as a role player next to a star PF. If he is able to get 34 minutes a game, I see him doing things more like 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block. Not some 15 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks like some people are thinking.

Cool thx. Youtube obviously never tells the whole story, and I don't follow the Euro leagues.
I hope we can bring him over this year. Sounds like an intriguing prospect.
