With George Hill playing so well of late, maybe Tony Parker should be traded to return some assets in the centre position. Here's a trade that helps them.

I like what we have at guard no need to break that up. We don't need a center we already have one...Splitter. Just need to get him signed.

I don't know how the Hill/TP thing works going forward. I don't think Parker will be happy coming off the bench permanently, but I also think that Hill is too good to be a backup. We're too small if we play them both in the backcourt together.

I'll leave this conundrum to the FO to figure out.

How are they unproven? They have had impressive seasons of late. Last year Bargnani his 40% on 3's and almost 18 pts. Calderon, just 2 years ago, was almost an all-star and was 3rd or 4th in the league in assists. So, in terms of playoff success or all-star teams, they are unproven, but if the Spurs want George Hill to be the next starter, they can get a potential Centre for the future and possible the BEST backup point guard in the game.

Honestly, that would definitely do it for me. Bargnani and Calderon are perfect fits for this team. I haven't seen Calderon play this year but I know he's having a down year. Not sure what's going on with that.

Bargnani, offensively, is a great fit for our offense. The problem is, will he turn into just another stationed 3 point shooter here? If Richard Jefferson can't get his shots here, I really don't think Bargnani can.

Calderon is a very efficient PG from what I remember. Shoots the ball well, very good passer and certainly a pure PG that we don't have on this team.

The problem will be contract wise. Wasn't Calderon get a contract that goes like 10 mil per for 4 or 5 years? And I forgot if Bargnani got an extension or not and how much it is.

Personally for me, I'd rather we trade Tony Parker to get a big man instead of getting depth on a 2 for 1 deal like you're suggesting. I'm all for getting a guy like Boozer honestly. Really liked Elton Brand but I don't think he'll ever get healthy again. But it's at PF where we need help and give us an inside presence especially with the emergence of George Hill and having Manu/Jefferson on the perimeter.

Hey guys I am a Raptors and Spurs fan and from the Raptors perspective this trade makes no sense as Bargnani's offensive potential (7 footer who can stretch the floor) certainly commands more value than Parker who is an injury prone pg who's play has declined this year. Also the Raptors have a solid starter for now at pg in Jarrett Jack. Trust me you do not want Jose Calderon on your roster (and neither do i want the Spurs to take him) he is no longer the player he was 2 years ago is injury prone and any offensive production he has is negated by his inability to play defense (Pop would go nuts trying to deal with Jose). Also I don't think Bargnani would be a good fit on your team he is soft cant rebound at all and is an average defender. Clearly Bargnani is not the cornerstone defensive bigman that the Spurs have built around for a long time and I do not want Bargs to take over after Tim leaves. Even if you still want Bargnani despite the shortcomings i mentioned the Raptors GM Brian Colangelo is in love with him caused he drafted him first overall and is his legacy which he will probably never trade because he overvalues him.

With that being said I do think that Parker's trade value should be explored in the offseason with the continued development of George Hill who clearly has demonstrated he deserves the reigns at PG.

Calderon? Really? This guy is probably one of the most overrated players in the NBA. (Certainly a starter on the all-overrated team). His defense is worse than Steve Nash's (is that even possible?), he is soft and has absolutely no character. Oh, I guess being able to hit 90 FTs in a row should make me high on him... Sorry, I'd pass.

Just to get it straight, I'm actually a Bargnani fan but not for Tony, and please, not alongside Calderon.

Let's see how things pan out. If we win a championship (its a long shot) then maybe everyone has no problems coming off the bench. Hell Manu did it for years and still made his money. Tony has the potential to accept the same...he has so far.

TP is a great trade asset to have incase we decide to go in another direction.

I don't think TP would accept a bench role long term. Manu accepted his role because he still got starter's minutes, seeing as he can effectively play the 1, 2 and 3. TP can really only play the 1 and maybe slide over to the 2 for smallball.

It's an intriguing issue though. Hill has such great potential and I don't wanted to see that hampered.

Parker has the most trade value out of any of our rotation players and this is only going to decrease as time goes on. It might be time to pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

Perhaps a bit far fetched, but would you consider something along the lines of Stuckey/Rip or something like Stuckey/Hedo for Parker? You'd have a solid young guard tandem in Hill/Stuckey and add some quality depth. You could for example start Hill/Rip/RJ with Stuckey & Manu off the bench.

I suppose it'd depend greatly on what you think of Stuckey. Clearly he's not a PG, but IMO he's a pretty damn good SG or combo-guard (and he's MUCH more efficient in that role). But if you think he's a poor mans Stackhouse then this is probably pretty insulting lol

I personally think our backcourt is in good shape going forward. I'm more interested in loading up on decent bigs to complement TD.

Yes far fetched it was ment that way. I want a good rebounder and shot blocker is that to much to ask for before the big three ride off into the sunset.
