To SA: brand + #2 pick
To Philly: jefferson + blair/hill + #20 pick
with the #2 pick draft derrick favors

thoughts?

Two things that crossed my mind when reading your post :

- Philly will never do this.
- Brand is done (old and injury prone).

Philly don't do this.

Spurs do number 2 and draft Evan Turner. It makes no sense to acquire Brand and draft Favors while still hoping we see Splitter here.

It's not unrealistic that Brand (who played 76 games this year) could put up 16 points and 8 rebounds. Our system is better suited for his talent. Then we draft Turner who can probably get the starting job as soon as training camp and either move Manu to SF or he plays SF himself. Most likely thou, Manu plays off the bench but will be seeing a lot of Manu, Turner, Parker lineup.

It will instantly upgrade our talent level while also getting Turner, who can potentially be our next franchise player. Spurs do this. Philly doesn't.

both jefferson and parker are expiring and you get either hill/blair (young talent) and the 20th pick which is even more young talent. maybe even throw in another 1st rounder

This is great for Spurs, but Philly won't take it. They have to be that crazy to do it. If Philly wants to build up with youth, a really good start would be the #2 pick..don't you think?

Not very deep at SG and SF, but we can catch a young guy or a good vet.. Really great starting line up though..

Really doubt Philly would do it but i'd be all over that 1st deal. Turner is going to be a stud in the NBA for a long time.

what do you think about offering splitter as well?

I believe we can move up in the draft and select a good, young athletic wing player without giving up too much in the process.

To reiterate, Brand is finished. Philly want to unload him because they aren't getting what they paid for. I hope the spurs front office don't need to be reminded of Richard Jeffersons performance this year.

Main priority is to get younger, and more athletic. Emphasis at the 5 and 3 spot for the spurs. If potential trades don't achieve this, then what is the point of making them. The thought of including Hill, Parker and Blair in trade talk would be totally against the spurs "youth" movement.

What about Jefferson + #20 for Iguodala. We get a great two way starting SF, trimm about 2 million off our payroll next year and get a player thats going to help us now and into the future.

I say no to Iguodala strictly because I don't think what Iguodala bring to this team is that much different than what RJ bring.

They are both opencourt players who won't get many opencourt opportunities. On the halfcourt sets, they're both straight line drivers as opposed to creative drivers like Parker and Manu, and they're both a streaky shooter.

I just see Iguodala having the same problem as RJ did. Atleast if we're satisfied with RJ, we can resign him for way below what he's making now. I'm sure we can get him at the 6 to 7 million range. Iguodala, I believe, is already locked up long term with 10+ mil salary.

Add that if we're going to add Splitter with the MLE, then we're gonna be hoping for a lot from that 20th pick to play some minutes in the perimeter. Without that pick, we'll be forced with veteran minimum guys to play big minutes.

^good, cause there' no way Philly does that.
Spurs and Sixers probably have little to trade, maybe a Young for Splitter swap, but I doubt either team does it.
