Any chance we re-sign Mason?
I thought when the season was done no way we bring him back but with all the shooters in FA drying up he is looking like the best option.
Bell gone, Jones gone, Barnes gone, who's left.

No chance at all... he burned his bridges here... and according to him we were not one of the 17 teams that called him the first week of free agency.

Re: Roger Mason
Don't see him coming back for the reasons BR already listed.
I really thought someone would have picked him up already. He would of been good in Portland behind Roy/ playing with Roy, but they gave Matthews that absurd contract instead.

Re: Roger Mason
I thought Miami might look at adding him. He can hit the open 3, and he'd have plenty of looks with all those double teams for the Superfriends. I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up yet too.

With the Neal signing no chance of Mason. I wonder where he ends up. Maybe Cleveland.

Re: Roger Mason
To me, it never feels like Mason thinks he's a role player/shooter off the bench type of player. I think he feels that there's a lot he hasn't shown the NBA yet.
Therefore, I think Mason goes somewhere (probably a bad team) that is very weak at SG and in serious need of scoring/shooting where he can get 30 minutes a game and starting job. Is there such a team? I feel that if I'm Mason and have that "I'm Jordan.. people just don't know it yet" mentality, I'll do something like that.

The guy had incredible confidence but just seemed to always come up short. I am not crying that he isn't on our team. He was a liability on the defensive end. Good luck finding work.

Bulls are chasing him/Bogans, per wiretap. Does this mean they aren't pursuing McGrady anymore?

T mac wouldn't accept his role as a back up or the fact that he is on the massive decline. He is too big headed to be a BULL.

Yeah thought as much. Same reason I want no part of him as a Spur. Dudes like him, Shaq and AI have a hard time letting go and moving on. It's not 2003 anymore but they act like they're still stars.

Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Totally agree, if T-Mac would just accept a lesser role he could be an extremely usefull role player.

A lot of us keep saying that on the Bulls board....and that is also the exact year that gets mentioned.
T-Mac....it isn't 2003 anymore...you are done as a starter. Accept 18-20 mpg off the bench...or retire...it is that simple.
As for Mason...he is one of the guys the Bulls (especially me) are very interested in. Can defend and knock down the three. Depending on how well he plays...and if he can beat out Brewer.....he can start...and get up to 26 minutes per game....or come off the bench for about 18mpg.
Jealousy is a sickness.......get well soon....

Re: Roger Mason
Uhm... I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but Mason does not defend.
Really, I can't see how Mason beats out Korver. What has become obvious is that Mason is better off as a spot up shooter. He doesn't provide you with much else. Ball handling? Nope. Rebounding, assists, defense? Hell no. Is he a better shooter than Korver? Not even close. Does he have better size? Also no. I would trade Mason for Korver in a heart beat.

Bulls fan
RMJ is a spot up shooter. Don't expect anything else. He was here only to shoot 3. And last season even that he couldn't do.
Korver > RMJ anyday, anytime

Re: Roger Mason
It sounds like Mason is going to sign with the Knicks. He should be a good fit on that team.

Re: Roger Mason
It's funny reading about what Knicks Fans are saying about Roger Mason Jr right now.
Some are saying he's young, he's 30 years old.
Clutch? He hasn't done enough over his career to be considered clutch IMO.
Can play backup PG? LOL!!! Wait until they see Mason plays backup PG.
Shoot when open? WTF... For Mason, any shot is an open shot. That's his biggest problem.
Disciplined? From what I see last year, he's far from disciplined on offense and it shows on how he uses a pick to launch a 3 point jumpshot.
Character? Really, he's the first Spur I can remember in a very long time that requested a trade publicly.

Didn't Finley do the same thing?
Not trolling, I come in peace.
I think some of my fellow Knick fans do tend to exaggerate a guy's worth but we basically know what we are getting here. He's a decent shooter that can play both backcourt spots. He isn't good enough to be much more than a role player at either position. We do value Spur pedigree and the fact that the guy worked his way into the league unconventionally warrants merit as well. If all our parts are in order, we are looking for him to be our 8th or 9th man. And those of you familiar with D'Antoni, he doesn't play more than 9 guys.
Bottom line: he's no where as good as you are saying we think he is...lol. But I don't think he's as bad as you say he is either. You gotta admit it, you guys are kinda privileged so a Roger Mason acquisition barely makes the media guide. In Knickland, this is a vanilla but quality move for depth purposes if nothing else.

Re: Roger Mason
I think Mase is a better player than what he's shown here the past couple of seasons. He should've flourished in our offensive system but he just didn't for some reason. Last year was make or break for him and he ended up in Pop's doghouse and never recovered from that.
Playing under D'Antoni might be the chance he needs.

He's the perfect player for D'Antoni's system. D'Antoni's not going to question his shot selection, he's going to get his shots up, and he won't have to play alot defense. The up and transition game is perfect for Mason.
