Bigs Rotation

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask how you project the bigs depth chart for the upcoming season. I was kinda surprised Bonner was kept and given the contract be was gjven , since i thought a TD-Splitter-Blair-Dyess rotation was pretty good and set. But Pop seems to really like Bonner's 3pt shooting ability to open the floor, so i think he'll end up "earning" his 18-20 minutes per game. How about the others? I've read that some of you project Dejuan to have nearly 30 minutes per game, but I can't see how (unless some injury occurs). Thanks in advance

I'm guessing Duncan and McDyess will start and Blair will be our number one option off the bench with Splitter and Bonner spliting the remaining minutes. Pops doesn't like giving rookies big minutes, so I doubt Splitter starts or gets big minutes till midsesaon and thats only if he plays well enough.

I still think Dyse would be traded for a sf. I can also imagine Pop playing TD, Bonner, and Blair in the same lineup. Also, in a line up of Parker, Hill and Jefferson, Bonner is pretty much a must have on the floor to help spread the floor. I like Bonner, I really do. He does what he suppose to do, its just that we were forced to play him more than we should last season.

I do think that Bonner gives the Spurs a dimension (shooting) that is very needed with the perimeter guys we have. Like I've said over and over, Manu, Jefferson, Parker, Hill, Duncan, Blair.. they all live in the paint. Our biggest weakness last year in the playoffs was shooting. Our only shooter in the regular rotation was Bonner. Is it a surprise? It doesn't look like that'll change this upcoming season either. Bonner's shooting ability open up the floor better for our slashers. I definitely don't want to see Manu (likely our next best shooter) to relegate into a spot up shooter.

I highly doubt McDyess gets traded either, Pop has always had a soft sport for vets (Fnley, NVE etc)
I think that our major minutes up front will go to Blair TD and Bonner. Mcdyess and Splitter will split whats left. I imagine Pop will be using Mcdyess in a Horryesque role (saving him for the playoffs)
however he always seems to get alot of minutes against dallas guarding Dirk.
I really hope that Splitter lives up to expectations and gets himself into the starting lineup around the midseason mark.

I wouldn't mind a trade if it nets a title. Because let's face it, the Spurs aren't winning jack with Dyess as a starter. Bonner is good for 3 pt shooting and not much else. Dyess is okay at hitting the mid range jump shot and horrible at everything else. Blair is a pretty good finisher, rebounder but a major defensive liability. I'm all up for trading Blair and Dyess if it lands some solid defensive bigs who have legit size to boot.

I wanna hang onto Blair, I really think he's going to become a very good player. But i'm all for dealing McDyess. We still need a backup SF and some depth at center and I think Dyess could get us that.

Yeah but what if dealing Blair means getting the guy who brings SA another title? Blair is okay but I don't see much potential in him. Sure he's a tenacious rebounder but his size, or should I say lack thereof, will always be a liability in the Spurs interior defense.
