The feeling of watching the team play, of seeing the 28-4 record, of reading how other teams are becoming worried about facing us in the playoffs, it feels great

I never thought we could be that good again, I'm a little shameful :oops:

(just wanted to share my pleasure to be a spurs fan ^^)

I hear ya man, I thought our days of striking fear into the heart of our opponents was well and truly over as well.

This has been my favorite season as a Spurs fan, so far at least. In terms of putting out a brand of basketball that is entertaining to watch, coupled with the camaraderie that this group obviously has, it's a pleasure to watch this group do their thing.

We're like the Freddy Krueger's of the NBA. They keep killing us, we keep coming back from the dead.

^^ Agreed. I found Spurs basketball boring before. But this year your team is fun to watch. You team is a legit contender. Plys.. I got George Hill on my fantasy team

Yeah, I'm really glad that we're legit again. At the same time, I worry about how long this last.

As far as brand of basketball, I agree we become more exciting now. But i've come to enjoy watching shutdown defense over the years. If I had to choose what I like watching most between exciting offense or suffocating defense, I choose suffocating defense. There's a beauty in shutting down teams. Watching the Spurs have made me the kind of ball player that i am. Don't get me wrong. I suck big time. But I'm arguably the best post-up player in my ball park (lame) and i take pride in taking the opponents best player and being extremely physical even if i can't really shut them down. No one is counting the fouls anyways... But all that came from being a Spurs fan and i've come to enjoy it.

Problem is now the Spurs are better offensively and is great at dribble penetrations and slashing and uptempo and they're not that good on defense.

It's kinda too late at my age to go away from my post up game and suddenly start doing things I can't do like dribble penetrations and slashing and taking games off on defense. In some ways, it makes me feel like un-spurs like. It's almost like I have to be how the Spurs are right now.

Does that even make sense?

Anyways, looks like Pop will be coaching the allstar team. That should be fun to see. It's been a while.

Spurs brand of bball has definately changed but the roots are still there. Pop will for ever preach defensive.

The team has far exceeded everyone's expectations as of now. We all truely under estimated the power of a healthy manu and parker. Gary Neal has been an amazing find.

I would like to see another big too but I think that answers shows up in the form of Splitter later on in the season.

We are not a one or two headed snake. Any given players on our team can come up big and tip the game in our favor.

I love how the 11th and 12th players on the bench compete just as hard as the starters. That tells you right there the Spurs are ready.

As a Piston fan, just win a ring for McDyess please. I don't like to say players deserve a championship but if anyone deserves one, it is McDyess.
