George Hill for 6th man of the year?

He's been amazing for us off the bench all year and I really think he should be getting some consideration for 6th man of the year. He might not be putting up the big scoring numbers that some other award winner have put up in the past, but he plays great on both ends and he's soo clutch.
Guy's like Terry, Crawford and Odom aren't going to eligible for the award this year and the only other guys out there I can see competing with Hill for the award are Nick Young, James Harden and Taj Gibson.
What do you guys think?

I like what Hill brings us off the bench and think he should at least be in the conversation for the award. I think Large Infant for the C's might be a good chance as well.

Good call, I forgot about him.

Why would Crawford not be eligible? He's not been a starter at all and even if he starts 1 or 2 games he will still be eligible... I don't see your logic.

To be eligible for the award, a player must come off the bench in more games than he starts.

I think there are better player than him, but he has proven me wrong. I badly wanted Batum and now I really wouldn't trade him for him.

I would definitely trade Hill for Batum.
Anyways, Hill has surprised me even more this year. I wasn't that big of a fan of him last year and early this year. I thought most of his games/ability are average. He's not good/great at any one thing. However, he's been consistent and he's better defensively this year.

Right now he's still eligible but I just don't see the Hawks leaving him on the bench with all their struggles and with JJ injury problems. They could keep bringing him off the bench, but I just don't see.

Well, I think they like bringing him off the bench because he gives them more scoring than nearly any other second unit in the league and they make deliberate efforts to keep him coming off the bench even when they are a man or two down - that's why they had Marvin Williams start at guard, or Jason Collins start with Horford and Josh Smith at the other forwards... I think Jamal will retain his 6th-man eligibility all season long.
