I was unable to watch the Kings game but looking at the stat line I would say splitter kinda had a coming out game. I understand that the kings arnt that good but any confidence that he can build is just great for that silver and black. We will need him to play well in the playoffs.

Not realistic at all IMO to expect Splitter having a big impact this season, especially if you're talking playoffs.

Splitter is not Duncan's sidekick. He's Duncan's backup. In fact, Splitter is the backup to Duncan's backup. He's your third string center and basically have no chance to replace Bonner or Dice unless it's an injury situation.

Furthermore, even if he ends up as the primary backup Center in the playoffs, Duncan isn't going to be playing 29 minutes a game. He's likely to be getting 34-36 minutes. How big of a contribution can you expect from a 12-14 minute guy?

Realistically, you shouldn't expect Splitter to do anything this year because it's his learning year. He'll get minutes here and there much like Blair did last year. He's not likely to be getting any regular playing time or crack the rotation.

Plus, one game againts the Kings is one game. Blair had bigger games than 16 points and 9 rebounds last year and he wasn't able to crack the rotation. It's pretty safe to say that Blair had a better rookie season than Splitter is having so far.

Yeah, Blair had a better rookie season but he was the 4th big behind Dice, Bonner and Duncan. Splitter is the 5th, so it's harder for him to get playing time.

Even though, Splitter is a much better defender (pick and roll+intimidation) so he maybe gets some minutes in the PO when we can't guard a big or if we are having foul trouble.. PO is about defense, so i see Splitter with a better chance there..IDK..

He played well against the Kings and he's been playing well lately too. But I wouldn't expect him to get many minutes come playoff time. He's going to be a good player but he's not going to get a chance to play until next year unless he just starts playing some amazing basketball down the stretch.

We will probably need himm at some point against the Lakers if they make it to the WCF. TD will probably have foul trouble at some point.

Splitter has done fine his first yr. We all knew he wasn't going to come in here and be the second coming of TD or the admiral.

We won rings with Trasho, "pump fake" muhammad, and oberto.

Splitter, Bonner, Blair, Dice, and TD is a great stable of bigs.
