GT: Heat vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Mar 3, 2011 5:52 pm

When: 9:30 PM ET, March 4, 2011
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Starting Lineups:

Heat:
PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Dwanye Wade
SF - LeBron James
PF - Chris Bosh
C - Erick Dampier

Spurs:
PG - George Hill
SG - Manu Ginobili
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

Its going to be a tough one on Friday night against the Heat, but even without TP we still have a good shot at winning this game. The key to winning this one is going to be playing great team defense. We can`t defend the Heat`s big 3 one on one, we need to play them as a team. That means we`re going to be doing a lot of switching and playing a lot of help defense.

Go Spurs!!

LeBron's old team and new team in succession! Can't believe we had to wait this long to play these guys. I can't stand these chumps. Let's crush 'em.

Only good thing is that they will come from a tough b2b.. Orlando+SAS..
Hope we win. Didn't like all the summer moves..

Shame we don't have Tony, he would of pee pee'd all over Bibby and Chalmers. Let's hope our bench can really step up and get us over the hump in this one. Will be tough, but We can do it. Duncan will need a huge game too.

I had this as a win knowing Miami is in the 2nd night of b2b, but they came off a disappointing lost and we're short handed without Tony. I think Miami have bigger motivation for this game then we do. I predict a loss for this game. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Would it be safe to say that a Spurs win will closely track the success of George Hill?

Another 6 point, 6 turnover performance from Hill would seal things for the Heat, but even given average performances from Hill and Ginobili, the Spurs would still have the edge because Miami has no credible rebounders. It's reasonable to expect great rebounding numbers from Blair and Duncan given that only one of Miami's three centers actually knows how to play the position.

The officiating always seems to play a bigger part in Heat games than it should, too. If you get another crew that thinks it's a foul when LeBron James shouts as he literally trips over his own feet, like he did last night against the Magic, then it could be a long night for the Spurs.

Still, all things considered, Spurs win.

I wouldn't mind if your coach made ours look really bad.
