Manu hyperextends elbow in season finale

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Apr 14, 2011 7:23 pm

Happened in the first few mintues of the game and it could cause him to miss time in the playoffs. He's undergoing an MRI today and we'll find out if he's going to miss any time. Whether he misses time or not this is bad for us, we need a healthy Manu. Why he even played last night is beyond me.

MRI results are in and Manu has a sprained right elbow and he`s listed as doubtful for game 1. This is trouble.

I'm going to sound like a broken record here but this is absolutely all on Pop. No need to have played any of the stars in that game. It was pointless resting everyone against LA but playing them in a meaningless game in Phx. And now this.

Hinrich had a similar injury at the start of the year and missed 4 games. Let's hope we get a similar outcome. We can handle the Grizzlies without Manu but there's no way we're winning the chip without him.

Sound like you guys should have played the Grizzlies game...rest players to be safe for the playoffs. Don't be so sure this will be easy for you guys...I am not saying that the will win the series but it will be interesting. This is definitely not the same Grizz team you guys swept a few years ago. Here's to a good series.

From Manu's twitter feed:
MRI showed an elbow sprain (Ulnar collateral ligament). I'm doubtful 4 sunday. Hope to make it. The pain is almost gone. Thx!

It's his non-shooting arm as well, so that's another plus. Hopefully he only misses one or two games.

Ya hopefully he doesn't miss many games. Jeff McDonald was saying on Twitter that the injury can go either way in the next two days.

I still have no idea why Pops played the starters against the Suns.

It's a headscratcher, that's for sure. All year Pop was saying that the no.1 goal heading into the postseason was health, which only makes the decision to play any of our stars in a meaningless game all the more perplexing.
