Manu Ginobili on Monday suffered a broken bone in his left hand with 2:38 remaining in the Spurs’ game against the Timberwolves.

Ginobili, who is left-handed, appeared to suffer the injury reaching in an attempt to strip the ball from Timberwolves forward Anthony Tolliver as Tolliver went up for a shot near the 3-point line.

The two-time All-Star immediately grimaced in pain and clutched the left hand with his right, Spurs head athletic trainer Will Sevening sprinting to his aid.

Spurs officials reported the injury was a fractured fifth metacarpal.

If thats true our season we're in serious trouble.

Anderson's going to need step up big time now, Neal should be back soon but replacing Manu is going to be tough.

I believe we can hang around even without him. Obviously Tony needs to step up and then with our system we'll still be playing better than 50% of the other teams that were more affected by the lockout than us. And maybe it's time for James Anderson to pick up some of the scoring slack, consistently.

Manu's going under the knife tomorrow and it sounds like he will be gone for 6 to 8 weeks like rocopc orginally said.

If the team is trying to win now, then Barbosa would be a good fit as a rental/replacement for the season (expiring), though if the team is smart it would be time to go in the tank and try for a repeat of 97. There are some very nice players at the top of the draft.

We have no way of getting Barbosa unless you guys wanna take back Bonners contract.

And honestly I wouldn't even be interested in him. I'm happy with what we have at SG right now, Neal, Anderson and Green should be able to handle it.

Barbosa's not a starting caliber player, and in general, while is a decent scorer, he struggles against solid defensive teams who use their length to contest his shots.
