Per WT, Sheed is looking to make a comeback to the NBA.

Interested? He didn't look so great in Boston, does he have anything in the tank for one last go-around? I assume he only wants to go to a contender.

I have no need for Sheed. The guy looked done when he was with the Celtics.

I disagree. Sheed played solid defense and still is capable of hitting the big shot and stretching the floor, and could still score at times in the post. When you were a high-level player, the drop off later still leaves you valuable. He wasn't a liability.

As long as he'd be in decent shape, I'd take him, but if he didn't go with us in 2009, he won't now. I wish we got him in 09-10, we really could of used his toughness and size on both ends against Phoenix.

Id prefer Sheed over Bonner so yes we could use him. He looked almost wheelchair bound by the end of his latest stint though so not sure how likely it is that anyone would pick him up.

There is currently no one on this roster that would play this physical in a big game, like:

^^ Seeing that jogs my memory even more of why I miss Rasheed, and why he was still valuable, and would still be at almost 40 years old in this league. Plus his offensive game is still there in limited form in making passes, shots, and selected touches in the post.

When you were as agile and long and as smart as Sheed was as a defender, that stuff doesn't decrease that much as you get older.

Yeah he's old, but there aren't many players that D up like that these days and his hustle would be a big asset. To me, his role would be very similar to Horry's in his last couple of seasons: hit big shots and play solid D. You wouldn't play Sheed 35 mins a night in the regular season, you'd save whatever he's got left in the tank for a postseason run.

I'm not saying he would've changed the outcome either way, but having a guy like him against Memphis last playoffs would've definitely helped us.
