GT: Spurs vs. Rockets

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sat Jan 21, 2012 5:12 am

When: 8:00 PM ET, January 21, 2012
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Gary Neal
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

Rockets:
PG - Kyle Lowry
SG - Kevin Martin
SF - Chandler Parsons
PF - Luis Scola
C - Samuel Dalembert

Well we're coming off our first home loss of the season to the face the Rockets on the road. Our schedule hasn't exactly been kind to us over the last week so i'm really not expecting a win.

The key to winning this one is going to be stopping Kyle Lowry. He's been amazing so far this year and we too contain him to stop the Rockets.

Go Spurs!!

After the bad loss to Sacramento last night I feel we should win this one. We already know each other too well when it comes to Houston (2 pre-season games, 2 regular season games already) so playing away from home shouldn't be such a problem.

Tough loss. Splitter and Parker were huge without Duncan in the lineup but it just wasn't enough.

Got a chance to win it at the end but I'll say even if we won, we didn't deserve it.

This is where not having Manu is starting to show. Back in the 2008 playoffs (or was it 2009?) when we have TD and Parker but Manu was injured, everybody was screaming for more talent offensively and generally just better ball players. Today, we have no Manu and no Duncan. Well, when Duncan is playing, he's not like his 2008/2009 self anyways. We look alright when the shots are falling, but in the last 2 games, it's starting to show that we lack a shot creator. Parker is doing way too much and it's getting way too predictable.

Bright spots, again Kawhi and Tiago.

Our 3 best penetrator is probably Manu, Parker, and TJ Ford. We need atleast 2 of them. Dragic was doing to us what TJ was doing to our opponents when he's on the floor. He attacked the basket all the time and made plays.

No TD, no Manu, no Ford. We shouldn't expect a win with those guys out.

Just looked at the stats and realized that the Rockets shot 56% last night...
