GT: Spurs vs. Hornets

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:06 pm

When: 8:00 PM ET, January 23, 2012
Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, LA

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Gary Neal
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - DeJuan Blair

Hornets:
PG - Jarrett Jack
SG - Marco Belinelli
SF - Trevor Ariza
PF - Jason Smith
C - Emeka Okafor

We're in the midst of a stretch of 16 of 21 games on the road and we really need a win in New Orleans. The Hornets have been struggling without Eric Gordon and we need to take advantage of that and get a win.

We need to jump on them early and get the starters some rest.

Go Spurs!!

If we cant win games like this now, I am not holding high hopes for us once we finish this streak of away games. This stretch is really going to define our seeding and what comes of the rest of the season.

Go Spurs!

Yeah this stretch will make or break our season. Only one win on the road so far, which doesn't bode well if we make the playoffs. We've been so up and down this season it's tough to know if or when the team is going to show up.

Winning on the road will be huge for any team in the Western Conference. Even though we have a solid record, we are essentially playing .500 ball right now (1 away win, 1 home loss). We already lost games on the road we should have won (Milwaukee, Houston, etc.) and we just need to turn it around.

New Orleans, I feel, are better than their record suggests. I guess losing Eric Gordon left them with no go-to guy. It's generally tough to play in New Orleans so it's a 50/50 game for me.

We need this win and it's gonna be a test for our big guys. Hornets got Okafor and Kaman.

Dodged a bullet there. Road win #2.

Duncan turning back the clock with his game.

Wow what a game from Timmy. I know he's still got some skills but this performance still surprised me. We're gonna need to see games like this from time to time if we're going to be sitting in a decent seed come playoffs time.

Go Spurs!

Wasn't pretty but it was a win and a win on the road.

Our last 4 games have been decided by 3 pts or less.
